    Obrigado ao capitão Billy e à tripulação Jerome e Ding. No primeiro dia apanhámos Doritos para isco e, embora tenhamos tido uma picada de Espadim, o anzol não ficou bem preso e perdemo-lo rapidamente, sendo o resto do isco rapidamente devorado pelos tubarões. O segundo dia, no entanto, foi uma história diferente — tivemos uma boa Cavala-da-Índia de cerca de 9 kg e 2 Atum-albacora de cerca de 36 kg cada. Mas a história não fica por aqui: após quase 4 horas a lutar com um enorme Espadim-preto, ao fim de cerca de hora e meia tive de passar a cana à tripulação — é o problema de ficar velho. Juntos, conseguimos trazer o peixe até ao lado do barco, momento em que o magnífico Espadim-preto, estimado em 400 kg, deu uma última e poderosa sacudidela de cabeça e partiu o anzol. De certa forma foi difícil de aceitar, mas por outro lado aquele peixe magnífico continua a nadar pelo oceano. Gostaria de agradecer novamente ao Billy e à tripulação por uma experiência única na vida.

    Tivemos mesmo muita sorte com o tempo. Primeiro, procurámos um grande grupo de aves, pois isso indica que há um cardume de peixes por baixo. Após 1 hora e meia, chegou o momento — apanhámos 10 Sardinis e depois a mordida acabou. Depois tive muita sorte e ainda apanhei um grande Dourado-do-mar, que calculo ter entre 10 a 15 kg. Após 20 minutos, já o tinha a bordo, e depois regressámos.

    Decidi arriscar e ir à caça ao espadim. Já tentei várias vezes e mesmo estando ligeiramente fora da época aqui, adivinhem o que aconteceu - consegui! O capitão Billy é fantástico e o Jerome e o King, a tripulação, foram simplesmente incríveis. O equipamento é de primeira classe, o conhecimento é excecional e ele tem paciência para explicar todo o processo. O barco é muito confortável, tinha espaço para a minha esposa relaxar e uma casa de banho limpa e agradável. No geral, foi um dia brilhante, coroado com o avistamento de golfinhos e cachalotes.

We were out for a full day trip with nice conditions and after a quiet start we got into action with the wahoos and in the afternoon caught skipjacks as well as a splendid sailfish and a yellow fin tuna.

350 lbs blue on livebait

Our regular guest Mr Peter brought his friend to experience deep sea trolling and what an experience it turned out to be. A blue marlin, some skipjacks and a yellowfin tuna on the first trip.Patience paid off as we were trolling with live bait since 8:00 a.m and only got the strike around12:00. It was a fierce fight but the angler did very well on his first ever big saltwater fish.

After some northerly wind and choppy seas it was starting to get better.We caught a skipjack early during the trip and started live baiting but the bait quickly got weak and the schools around us were dissipating.We put the lures out and headed gor the deeper waters were we caught another skipjack. Just after leaving the school we got a strike and it was game on. Our customer who had been looking to catch his first marlin in different countries finally got it after a 25 minutes fight.While the crew were resetting the lures 2 marlins showed up behind the lures and we got a hookup on the short corner lure.It was an estimated 600 lbs blue that was very aggressive and took a lot of line on the 80lbs reel. Our customer got on the fighting chair but unfortunately the line broke after the marlin started doing some acrobatic jumps far away from the boat.We came back with a blue marlin and 2 skipjacks.

Over 4hrs fight, apprx 900lbs black marl

On that morning with no activity along the dropoff we decided to try our luck a bit further south. Sea was good and we spotted a few birds and caught a wahoo and shortly after we had 2 yellowfin tuna on the lines.During the fight there was a heavy rain and wind picked ip and the sea got rough and tough.After boating the two 80lbs tunas we headed downwind and did not find much.About an hour before heading back we had a strike on the long rigger lure and saw that huge black marlin taking to the air.The fish did not take too much line but was very stubborn and did not want to move from where it was.Our regular customer Mr Chris did an excellent job on the chair but a fish that size wears you out and time was going by.After trying trick after trick the fish was finally starting to get uncomfortable and came up and made some beautiful jumps just to show its size and power. Some time later ,as we were getting ready with the gaffs and the fish was just 2 meters away from the boat with leader in hand, the leader broke due to the many hours chafing with the bill. Some could say a nice release.We could just watch the beautiful fish slowly swim away...see you another day

Out on this wavy afternoon looking for some action we had a strike while we were putting the lines in the water.The hook did not set properly and the fish got away.The next two hours we did not see much until we spotted a few birds circling an area.On the first passage we did not raise any fish but on the second passage a blue marlin hit the short rigger lure before going for the long rigger.Fish on, our customer had a tough fight and the marlin did not jump even once.An hour later we got the gaffs ready and our customer was very pleased to have his first blue marlin on the boat.
