Growing up living on the water, Captain Tanner and his father were always on the go, fishing every week and weekend. He loves being on the water and loves watching people catch fish. He was delighted to get his captain license at the age of 18 and hopes to bring his enthusiasm to every trip. Captain Tanner primarily likes to target Grouper and Snapper, with his largest catch in 2018 weighing in as 450 lb Goliath Grouper.

    half day fishing trip on Apr. 6, 2026

    Captain Tanner knew right where to take us for our half day excursion! The bigger fish are further out, where they go for a full day, but we caught a lot of snapper that we were able to keep for dinner! Did catch some smaller grouper, just not big enough to keep.

This fish shown above is a Fire Truck red grouper, i typically call them a fire truck when they reach over 30 inches in length, this guy was caught in 112 feet of water on a live plichard! A regular Knocker rig with a 6/0 circle hook!

Awesome fishing this past weekend with light winds and a good tide, the fishing was unbelievable. Started the day running 45 miles offshore to get into deeper waters , as soon as we got there the fishing was non stop. Book a charter with me today.
