O capitão do barco - Luke - foi muito prestável a guiar-nos a todos. O Robert, que era o principal ponto de contacto, garantiu que todos os preparativos e comunicações correram na perfeição. Todos conseguiram apanhar alguma coisa e foi verdadeiramente uma experiência maravilhosa navegar ao pôr do sol, observar as estrelas e regressar já depois da meia-noite. The Hunt for the Smart One!

On the 25th of August, 2023, two enthusiastic anglers from the USA arrived at Valfinity Sea Adventures Charter in Pirovac, eager to embark on a journey to catch one of the most elusive and intelligent creatures of the Adriatic Sea. The anticipation was palpable as they prepared for a day on the water, hoping to outsmart the cunning big fish that call these waters home.
Our day began in the early morning hours, with the sun just beginning to rise over the horizon, painting the sky in hues of pink and orange. The calm before the hunt. Before we could pursue our main quarry, we needed to secure the perfect bait—live squid. With precision and skill, we caught our bait, knowing that it would play a crucial role in our quest.
With our squid securely in the live well, we turned our attention to finding the optimal fishing spot. This was no ordinary search. Armed with the best sonar technology, we spent a meticulous hour scanning the depths of the Adriatic, searching for the perfect underwater terrain that would likely harbor our target. It was a calculated decision, based on years of experience and the latest in fishing tech.
Finally, the moment arrived. We released our bait into the deep blue waters and waited with bated breath. It didn't take long. Within 15 minutes, the first strike hit—a fierce battle ensued, but alas, the fish managed to escape, leaving us with a tantalizing taste of what was to come. The adrenaline was pumping, and the excitement only grew.
Not long after, another strike! This time, it was a solid hookup. The fight was intense, every angler's dream—a true test of skill, patience, and strength. The fish was relentless, but so were we. After a hard-fought battle, we managed to bring the magnificent creature to the boat. It was a triumphant moment for our American guests, who had traveled halfway across the world for this experience.
As the day drew to a close, we returned to Pirovac, our hearts full and our spirits high. We may not have caught every fish that bit, but the one we did was a testament to the skill and determination of our crew and our guests. The hunt for the smart one was a success, and the memories made on this trip will undoubtedly be cherished for years to come.

Crew on a mission!

4 of us, some new, some experienced anglers, on a simple mission "get fish for the grill, so the wives are happy".
Relaxed ride to some nice fishing spots, getting to know each other and warming up :).
On arrival, everyone grabs their rod and picks a spot on the boat, mine was preparing the lures and bait or helping unhook the fish.
Action!
We followed a school of blue fish, so they were striking them one by one, occasionally hooking a few larger predators that were hunting the same targets as we did.
After several hours in nice spirits and enough fish in the bucket, it was time to declare "mission successful".
It's always a good day of fishing with happy guests. You know how they say: HAPPY WIFE, HAPPY LIFE!

The silence of the squids-Croatia style

Strong "Bura" wind, late August and beginning of squid season.
New to sea fishing, but experienced river&lake anglers, Gabi and Johannes.
Difficult conditions didn't deter them from heading out to experience squid fishing, and boy was it a nice one!
We went out, found cover behind one small island and waited in the right spot and depth, for the squids to come closer to shore and begin their sundown hunt.
As the sun dropped and the last bit of light was on the horizon the golden hour arrived, almost instantly they both had strikes and were pulling out the first squids in their angling careers.
We used a classical Croatian technique "peškafondo" and they mastered it in no time, pulling out squid after squid.
As the squids were moving even closer to shore, so did we with our electronic anchor, that kept us right on top of them and gave us an extra edge for making this record result at the end of the day.
The bucket was full, we had enough, it was time for a slow cruise to the harbour and a friendly talk about these unforgettable moments and other things...
Always a happy day when it all works out as planned, and the guests are going home with nice memories.
