Was Just About to Call it a Day…

Tunas!! The Palmer boys each got a tuna. We found a hungry school of skipjacks and some big yellowfins mixed in. The bite was good when we first arrived missing a couple and landing a couple. Then the birds sat down and the bite stopped and it was time to head in as we were far out. With the fish being far out lately the longer trips have been more productive.

The bait was biting good this morning and we loaded our bait tank fast and headed out to see what we could find. 1 hour later the righer came down with a nice Ono. Another hour later we found a school of aku and took a double but landed one. A couple hours later we spotted a mahi rigged up some bait but he wanted no part of it. A little later we got word of some bigger yellowfins so we headed over there… fingers still crossed with another hour left in the trip, hoping for that big one to bite next. ?

The tunas are here, we had a great 6 hr trip today with our guests finding hungry tunas a couple hours into our trip. The first bite came off but the second one stuck with nice 110lb yellow fin.
