Fun fishing

If you chum, they will come! Offshore was pretty insane with cobia and mahi the past two trips. Having the right bait right now is huge, we almost missed the big bull because he was just too full! He was just passing by checking us out. Thankfully a pilchard twitched at the right time convinced that mahi to eat one last time! Cobia were pretty fired up, be ready for the sharks to come in. Heavy tackle needed! Inshore fishing has still been fun for all ages! The water took a hit of cold weather for two weeks straight, but the snook seem to be hungry! Sheepshead, pompano, and trout have been in really good numbers as well. As always, take a kid fishing and get the next generation Tightened Up!

The bite has been pretty awesome recently, morning bites to late night. Main species have been tarpon, snook, and redfish. There has been a lot of jacks in the mix, and they have been on the larger side for sure. My buddy and I even got out 30+ miles and got tight a few times on swordfish. The weather is going to be getting windy so that’s probably the last trip offshore I’ll be doing for at least a week or two. Once that weather changes, I’m expecting a great number of mahi and cobia to be right out front. Until then, let’s get tight on some of the best inshore fishing you can imagine. These are my last couple days out with some awesome clients getting the job done and having a blast on constant action. Most of my trips have been inshore this week. With that being said, there has been some BIG snook around in big numbers. Tarpon are still around and biting better at night. Bycatches: Spinner sharks are pretty thick and fun to site fish. There have even been a big number of cubera snappers being caught on slack tide inshore. Offshore still has good numbers of sails and snapper being caught. Mahi are still random catches, a lot of peanuts, but no solid fish “yet”.
