Big schools and clear water

Red fish and black drum are schooled up and eating great time to go fishing

The cold weather has brought clean water and the reds are schooled up. Those of you who have fished in the last two years know that the water haven't been clear until now I believe this is the start of a great year of fishing . If you have never fished schooled up red fish it's an awesome sight to see 50-300 reds flashing and pearling in gin clear water . I still have some openings next week and the weather looks great for the first part of next week great time to call and see what schooled up red fishing is about . Capt Mike Mann

Well, we finally have some colder weather in the forecast just in time for Thanksgiving. This is what we have been waiting for. With the extended cooler weather, the lagoon will get much clearer quickly so the sight casting will be awesome. The best bets for sight casting are live shrimp, Z-man Paddle Z, and flies. Work the flats slow and look for tailing fish or cruising fish in the shallow clean water. On days with cloud cover, work top water baits around mullet schools or the Z-man jerk Shadz on weedless hooks. The Trout trick on trout eye jig heads will also work great. For the less experienced anglers, try cut mullet on the bottom in sand holes or on the edge of shore lines. The reds will start to school as we get colder and the water drops with the December north wind. I still have some openings Thanksgiving week and through New Years.
