Our Son’s Favorite Moment of the Entire USA Trip
During our family vacation in Florida for the FIFA World Cup, this fishing trip with Captain Gabe became the absolute highlight of the trip for my older son. While I came to the USA for football, my son came home talking only about deep sea fishing! We decided very spontaneously to book a nearshore/inshore/offshore fishing trip and were incredibly happy that Captain Gabe could still fit us in. The boat was perfectly prepared and my son was amazed by its size. We are from Austria and have experience fishing in rivers, lakes and ponds, but this was our very first experience fishing in the ocean. The weather conditions were extremely challenging. It was raining and stormy onshore, with dark clouds and changing winds all around us. However, Captain Gabe constantly monitored the weather radar and always navigated the boat to the best and safest fishing spots. Everything was perfectly prepared: live bait, frozen squid, excellent fishing equipment and cold drinks on board. Captain Gabe also explained the local fishing grounds, the reefs and shipwrecks, which made the experience even more interesting. We tried for some big fish with live bait and although we didn’t land the trophy fish we were hoping for, we still had a fantastic day. Towards the end of the trip, Captain Gabe took us to another spot where we caught around 15 fish in less than 45 minutes, including seven or eight different species! The final bite of the day must have been a real monster fish. I had an incredible fight with it, but unfortunately I wasn’t good enough to land it. The fish managed to get under the rocks and escaped. Even though I lost it, it became one of those unforgettable fishing stories that we’ll be telling for years. A huge thank you to Captain Gabe for doing absolutely everything possible to give us an amazing fishing experience despite the difficult weather conditions. This trip will remain one of the most memorable moments of our family vacation, and we can wholeheartedly recommend Captain Gabe to anyone looking for an unforgettable fishing adventure.
