It was a fun and adventurous trip on a rainy O Dark Hundred morning but the fishing has been bad lately. Our boat caught a few keepers but I am an unlucky angler and caught nothing. Captain Jason did his best for me. The trip is great for the money spent and I would certainly go again.
My 13 year old and I went on a super fast, jam packed trip to Alaska. His number one goal there was to catch fish. Our excursion with Kristin was all we could have ever hoped for. She was so kind and personable, told us interesting things about Alaska but most of all was totally invested in us catching fish- and boy did we! I had no plans to fish (my son only was the plan) but I caught the bug and boy am I glad I gave in ha (first time fishing!) We won't ever forget this!! Thank you for making this trip SO special for my son's bday trip!
Trip was changed to the Kasilof River the evening before the trip due to a low fish count on the Kenai river. Great decision by our guide JAKE. Can’t say enough good things about Jake. We had been fishing the Kenai the previous 3 days without a guide and even the locals were having very little luck there. Jake asked us if he could change the time from 6am to 3am because he thought we would have better success. Perfect decision by Jake.
Jake was our guide. We met him at 3:20AM to begin our experience. Other groups around us were getting salmon but we were not quite getting them. Jake moved us to two other locations. The three people in our party each got one eventually. Jake kept us out longer to do this. The time says 6AM but you go when the calculate the salmon will be upstream from the tide.
Guides Jake and Noah did a wonderful job with our mixed family group of serious fishermen, little ones, and older, less agile folks. Quick to give a helping hand, and full of interesting stories, they made the trip! That, and that the serious fishermen caught fish.
