Rising Sun Fishing- Wrightsville 

We had an amazing time on this fishing charter! From start to finish, Captain Pierre was friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure everyone felt comfortable out on the water. He knew exactly where to go which made it very pleasant. The boat was clean and well-equipped, and he took the time to help us with baiting hooks, casting, and unhooking our catches, perfect for both beginners and experienced anglers. What really stood out was how much he genuinely cared about making sure we had a great experience. We ended the trip with some awesome catches and even better memories. Highly recommend this charter if you’re looking for a fun, stress-free day on the water. We’ll definitely be booking again!

My fishing trip with Captain Pierre was honestly one of the most memorable experiences I’ve had on the water. From the moment we got out there, you could tell he knew exactly what he was doing. Super laid back but also really dialed in when it came to finding fish. He explained everything in a way that made it easy to follow, even if you’re not super experienced. The best part was catching my first fish. It took a little patience, but Captain Pierre kept giving me tips and adjusting things until it finally happened. When I felt that first bite and reeled it in, it was unreal, definitely one of those moments you don’t forget. He made sure I stayed calm and walked me through the whole process so I didn’t mess it up. Overall, I’d 100% recommend going out with Captain Pierre, whether it’s your first time or you’ve fished before. He made the whole trip fun, stress-free, and actually successful, which isn’t always guaranteed. Easily one of the highlights of my time on the water.

We had a wonderful time fishing the intercoastal for redfish with Captain Pierre. Even with colder conditions, he worked hard to put us on fish, and we landed a beautiful 29-inch redfish! Pierre was friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. He set up the rods, assisted with casting, and provided everything we needed. Whether you’re new to fishing and want hands-on guidance or more experienced and prefer some space, he adjusts to your style while keeping you on the right track. Highly recommend!

If you’re looking for your best day fishing ever this is the trip for you. Captain Pierre is a master at his craft! He takes great care to make sure you have all you need to catch as many fish as you can reel in. He is a great teacher and always ready to help if you need it. If you book with Sunrise you will NOT be disappointed. I could write a novel about how great the trip was and it was all thanks to Captain Pierre. You have to experience it for yourself!

My wife and I purchased a home in Wilmington last year after raising our kids in Texas. My wife researched local charter fishing companies and read countless on-line reviews before scheduling a half-day charter with Rising Sun and Capt. Pierre when our 21 year old son and 19 year old daughter were in town. We couldn’t have been more pleased. Before we met, Capt. Pierre reached out to introduce himself, let us know what to expect, and made himself available to answer any questions — this immediately endeared him to my wife who values these qualities. Capt. Pierre also sent us a video to illustrate exactly where we would park and meet up with him. When we began our outing, Capt. Pierre explained the type of fish we would be targeting and very quickly took us to a couple of locations that had been very active recently. Right away he detected that my wife and daughter are both “infrequent” fisher-people and was very patient and kind with them as he baited their hooks and cast their lines. After fishing one location for about 10-15 minutes, he took us to another location nearby while explaining the migration patterns of the local fish in the area. Soon-after we arrived at the second location, we began to get several large bites and my daughter caught three large red drum in quick succession - something that could have caused some sibling rivalry, until my son hooked a couple himself…We all landed several large red drum each and had a fantastic time as Capt. Pierre continued to take us to other locations that proved fruitful. The thing that impressed me the most about Capt. Pierre was his demeanor towards my kids - my son who is very technical and asks a lot of detailed questions, and my daughter who is new to the sport and needed a different kind of guidance. Capt. Pierre was incredible with both. I would highly recommend Capt. Pierre to anyone - expert fisherman who are looking for someone to take them to the local hotspots around Wilmington and novices who are looking to learn how to fish. This guy is incredible. He is clearly a subject matter expert who knows the industry and he is very good with people. We will be using him for many years to come.
