Grand Slam!

Fishing has been great out if Duluth right now. Mix of coho and lakers makes for a great surface bite. Shallow stickbaits off planer boards, small dipsy divers with mini spoons, and shallow riggers with mini spoons have all be producing well.

Recent east winds from earlier in the werks has brough it warm water theoughout the column, pushing the good temperature zones deep and on the bottom. With this, we have switched iur tactics over to running “meat rigs”. Using smelt rigged up on flies, squids, bucktails or spin n glows behind dodgers, flashers or cowbells on deep riggers and magnum dipsy divers has been putting lots of fish on the deck!

July’s mid summer bite is in full swing! Full blowm copper and leadcore with spoons as well as deep dipsy dovers and mag spoons have been producing quality lake trout, a few coho salmon and even some Lake Superior king salmon. Fish have been hitting in water temps between 46-52 degree water roughly 40-70ft down in the water column. Tight lines! -Capt Jamie
