Limits of Redfish with Bonus Black Drum

Today I had the opportunity to fish with Dennis and Theresa from the Houston area. This was an awesome trip. The redfish were so thick and feeding heavily with a falling tide that large shrimp could be seen jumping all over the place. The redfish were literally in a feeding frenzy gorging themselves as these crustaceans were being flushed out of the estuary. It did not take long for this couple to get a two man limit of redfish after the same thing they were feeding on was placed in from of them on a hook and leader. Dennis and Theresa will be enjoying several blackened redfish or redfish on the half-shell meals this week. Thank you for the trip, folks. I had just as much fun as you did! Capt. Jon

Today we fished the Chasco Tournament and were the only boat that I heard of that produced limits of both specked trout and redfish. All these fish were caught on live shrimp. Live shrimp is what these fish are naturally feeding on this time of year so it makes sense to use that as bait. The fall tides, a new moon and hurricane activity in the gulf have created near perfect conditions for catching trout and redfish around Port O' Connor, Texas. This successful trip would not have happened without the hard work, motivation and perseverance of these three awesome clients! Hats off to a job well done. Capt. Jon

More delicious black drum and redfish hit the cleaning table today for my clients. Live shrimp was the ticket for this successful trip. I will personally filet the most common species (trout, redfish, drum & flounder) you catch and bag your catch up in ziplock bags at no additional charge. However, if you want to go catch sheepshead during the season I use a professional service to clean these wonderful eating fish because they can be tricky. The extra charge is $3 per fish. That is what I am charged. I do not make anything on sheepshead cleaning, I just want it to be done right for my clients so they can enjoy these tasty creatures free of all bones. Capt. Jon
