Fall Bite Heating Up: Snapper & Mackerel

The fall transition is officially here, and the fishing is getting ready to explode! The wind has been blowing like crazy over the past week, and unfortunately, it looks like it’s going to stick around for the foreseeable future. It’s definitely made getting out on the water challenging, but there’s a lot to look forward to once things settle down. As the water temperatures begin to cool and the seasons change, the fish are on the move. Bait is shifting, and the fall bite is starting to heat up. Snapper, Spanish mackerel, jacks, small tarpon, and much more are all part of the action this time of year. Once this wind finally lays down, I expect the fishing to be absolutely out of control! Fall is one of my favorite times to fish the Florida Keys, and everything is lining up for some incredible days on the water. Now we just need Mother Nature to give us a break!
