Voyage started off with fantastic weather and calm seas. First fish on within 5min, barely enough time to wipe the sleep from my eyes. The trip was sprinkled with copious amounts of education, continuous bites and lots of laughs. Jay and Bruce have a respect for mother ocean and are more than courteous stewards. At the dock they spent time to teach us how to gut, clean and secure our catch for travel back to WA. Caught 5 fish out of our 6 limit. Would recommend for any seasoned and/or beginner fisherman. Hey Bruce stay out of the drink and Mr. Googly eyes keep telling your clever one liners. We shall be back!! See you soon…Christopher and Laurie

I recently had the pleasure of going on a fishing tour with Bruce and Jay, and it was nothing short of amazing! This was our first time fishing for salmon in the ocean waters from a boat on Vancouver Island, and the experience exceeded all our expectations. Despite other boats around us catching little to nothing, we managed to catch three incredible fish—a coho salmon, a chinook salmon, and a rockfish. The guidance and support provided by Bruce and Jay were not only professional but also infused with a genuine passion and authenticity that made the experience even more special. Our family had an unforgettable time, and we would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a real fishing experience with true professionals. As a fantastic bonus, we got to keep our catch and enjoyed a delicious BBQ dinner at home afterward—an absolutely perfect way to end the day! Fishing with Jay and Bruce is more like spending a day with your buddies than being on a charter. They are great guys who love to fish. I have the feeling they would be on the water every day if they had the chance. I liked that they were up to date on watching the weather and fishing regulations to make sure we had the best trip possible. When the weather took a bad turn they changed the meeting spot so we could be out of the wind. We met at the harbor and were out fishing within 10 minutes. The only thing that slowed down getting our lines in the water was the time it took to drop the crab pots. Within half an hour we had landed our first Chinook Salmon. We weren't pulling in fish continually but were each able to catch some nice salmon and limited out on crab. Jay and Bruce might have been more excited that we were whenever a fish was brought up. Because of the weather, we were not able to fish for halibut, but that only gives us an excuse to come back and fish with the Rodfather again. We went out with jay and Bruce for an 8 hour charter. Right from the start these brothers showed that not only did they have a well set up boat but also loved fishing. On a day when the fishing was tough and not many in the fleet were hooking up the boys got us onto some quality fish. This continued all throughout the day even when the bite slowed to a trickle the brothers continued to change tactics and gear to maximise our options. Within minutes of the marina they managed a buzzer beater that meant we had fresh chinook for supper Thanks Rodfather we will be back
