What an adventure we had on this trip. Myself and husband have done many fishing trips around the caribbean over the years and this was one of the best. Andy, our first mate, was the best. He looked after us very well. Brilliant fishing as well as great conversations with this guy. We could tell right away this was going to be a great trip, his attention to detail was spot on. We caught a couple of big fish and between him and our captain, the determination for more was amazing. The water was very rough but we caught. We also seen a couple of whales swiming near us, which was also a brilliant experience. The boat was very clean, food and drinks on board also. Overall amazing, well done guys.

My partner and I went out fishing today and overall had a really great experience with Big Marlin. Our day started with a prompt hotel pickup in a clean, logoed van. Our driver was friendly, courteous, and professional. When we arrived at the marina area, we were greeted by the Big Marlin coordinator, whose job was to guide us from the parking area down to the beach where we boarded a small shuttle boat. One thing I didn’t love was having to pay the remaining balance in cash at that point — not a deal-breaker, but something to be aware of. We were introduced to our first mate, Danny, and then waded out to the beached boat to head out to the main vessel with Captain Yustas. The process was smooth and very organized. As soon as we boarded, the captain had everything ready and we got underway immediately. The weather wasn’t exactly postcard-perfect — windy, rainy, not the typical chamber-of-commerce day — but our captain worked hard to dodge the heaviest rain and give us the best experience possible. And even with the weather, we landed four mahi-mahi. Unfortunately, my partner became extremely seasick and we asked if we could cut the trip short. The captain and first mate were incredibly kind and understanding; no hesitation, no frustration — just genuine concern. Back at the marina, they cleaned our fish quickly and arranged an earlier ride back for us. Both crew members were professional, knowledgeable, and fun to talk to. Captain Yustas is from the Dominican Republic and Danny is from Russia, which made for some funny and interesting conversations throughout the day. Despite the weather and our early return, I felt completely taken care of and respected. If I return to Punta Cana, I would absolutely trust these guys with another adventure. Highly recommended. I wish my less than desirable Hotel and Resort Breathless would have been kind enough to prepare my beautiful wild caught fish for supper.

Had an awesome day with Big Marlin Charters. Wife and I did the 9-hour marlin excursion and the captain and our first-mate hooked us up. Landed a trophy White Marlin had us cranking in fish all day. Smooth transport from our resort to the boat and absolutely no issues whatsoever. We were on the Gone Dog. Will definitely book again.

We had an incredible time with Big Marlin Fishing Charter in Punta Cana! It was our first time taking our kids (ages 8 and 12) on a deep sea fishing trip, and the crew made it an unforgettable experience from start to finish. They were professional, friendly, and great with the kids—patient, helpful, and genuinely excited for them. We caught several fish and had nonstop fun out on the water. The boat was clean and comfortable, and everything felt safe and well-organized. You could tell the crew really knew their stuff and wanted everyone to have a great time. Seeing the smiles on my kids’ faces and watching them reel in their catches was worth every penny. This was a memory we’ll talk about for years. If you’re visiting Punta Cana and looking for a top-notch fishing experience, especially with family, I highly recommend Big Marlin. Thanks for an awesome trip!

Everything was very well executed from the transport to/from resort as well as the small boat transport to the actual fishing boat. Slower day on the water but we were able to land 2 mahi. First mate doesn’t talk much (small language barrier) but he was good at staying on top of freshing up the bait. Overall a great trip and would recommend!
