Gonzalez Sport Fishing Charters is here to show you the stunning waters of Playa Hermosa. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain David is prepared to put you on fish.
Amberjack, Mahi Mahi, Jack Crevalle, Blue Marlin, Striped Marlin, Needlefish, Rainbow Runner, Roosterfish, Sailfish, and more are in the cards if you come at the right time of year. You'll target your catch by spinning, popping, trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Trips with Gonzalez Sport Fishing Charters are child-friendly, so feel free to make a family day out of it! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Snacks are permitted onboard — bring your favorites – lucky for you, there will already be some on board!
Capt. David will bring you aboard a 27' Pursuit center console that holds up to 6 passengers. It has outriggers, downriggers, and all the essentials. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
You'll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so you can drive right over and come aboard without any hassle! Keep in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
Don't leave home without sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be food and some light snacks included on board.

We had an absolutely incredible experience with Gonzales Sport Fishing! From the moment we got on the boat, David and Jordan went above and beyond to make sure we had an unforgettable day. They were knowledgeable, friendly, worked incredibly hard, and made the entire trip fun from start to finish. We caught several beautiful mahi mahi, enjoyed great snacks and beverages throughout the day, and never had to worry about a thing. You can tell David and Jordan genuinely love what they do and are committed to giving their guests the best experience possible. If you’re looking for an amazing fishing charter with an outstanding crew, I can’t recommend Gonzales Sport Fishing enough. This was easily one of the highlights of our trip, and we’ll definitely be booking with them again. Five stars all the way!

David (Capt.) and Jose (1st Mate) were both amazing. We were a family of 6 and they accomodated our booking very last minute. David was the Captain for the job, he managed to make sure everyone of us caught at least once fish and some of us caught multiple. Most were tuna and one dorado. Jose was an amazing mate to have aboard. He worked his tail off for us, not only when there was a fish on but he also prepared amazing fruit and snacks for our family. He’s skilled with a knife and made short work of the fish we kept. Our family had an amazing morning.

My family (husband, 2 boys - 12 & 15) and I had a wonderful time! We were picked up on our hotel's beach (Waldorf Astoria) by Sergio & Milo for our 4 hour charter. By far, it was our favorite fishing charter to date. The captain immediately asked what type of fishing we wanted, and he delivered. We're from Florida and have experience fishing, so he ensure the boys stayed active & involved (trolled & jigged). We caught an 8-9 foot sailfish right off the bat and continued catching a variety of smaller fish throughout the morning. The crew was so friendly and knowledgable. The views from the coast were spectacular and the boat was perfect for lounging between the action. We also saw many sea turtles and dolphins and were treated to a spectacular spread of fresh fruit, hummus, and tuna salad. The experience couldn't be better.
