Blue Zone Fishing Team 

I brought 4 teenagers with sky-rocketing expectations to Capt. Seth, early in the morning. And boy, were we in for a treat! Capt. Seth has a unique skill set, in getting everyone involved as a team and all the youngster were spotting and reporting in to our Captain - who was a fountain of knowledge and... above average jokes and warstories ;-) We were taught what to look for - and after an hour and a half, our first (and youngest) angler caught his first Tuna. Capt. Seth called it minutes before. Same procedure, and all spotted and laughed, as we saw the tell-signs and rightly enough, once again - two lines were whining under the pressure of Tuna. On the way back Capt. Seth told us we would get a large fish, most likely (is he a fish-whisperer?) - and after 10 minutes a huge Yellow Finned Ahi-Ahi Tuna got the bait. It bit on a small handheld rod - and the next 2h and 45m we strained to get the 120 pounds beast onboard - standing up and strugling with the Tuna was no joke, and Seth stepped in and helped out when needed. The trip ended with the 4 Tuna onboard and Capt. Seth making us the most fantastic fillets to take home for the barbeque. What a Gentleman. In all seriousness: a trip with Capt. Seth is legend, and I simply cannot recommend him enough. He will conjure your angling dreams into some of the best memories of your life. And that's a fact. We had an amazing time! Captain Seth was thoughtful and informative. We were instantly welcomed and were completely comfortable asking any questions we had. The wildlife was incredible! There were moments when Flying fish and Shearwater birds surrounded to the boat and we could see the action up close. Captain Seth Foreman went above and beyond to ensure that we caught fish and that we had an exceptional experience. We caught 1 Ulua and 3 Otaru that we were able to keep. We also caught 1 trigger and 1 barracuda that were released. Not only did he explain the fishing techniques, he also talked about the beautiful history and culture of Hawaii. We hope we get to return to the Big Island soon and will definitely book another fishing trip with Captain Seth! This experience is one we will never forget!

We had an absolutely epic day out on the water with Captain Seth! From the moment we left the dock, it was clear we were in the hands of a true expert. Captain Seth knows these waters like the back of his hand — he took us straight to where the action was. We landed a big tuna AND a record-breaking Blue Marlin! Watching that Marlin fight at the side of the boat was a once-in-a-lifetime moment. Captain was professional, fun, and made sure everyone on board had the time of their lives. You will not be disappointed if you choose Blue Zone Charters for a trip out of Kona! Capt. Seth is very personable, he wants to get to know his clients well to better understand what will make their experience fun and memorable. He made accommodations to make all in our party comfortable and happy! He is a lifetime avid sportsman with a background in biology and science, with a great knowledge of Hawaiian culture. I learned a lot from him in our 7 hours together. Capt Seth takes time to explain how and why he uses different lures a techniques. His center console boat is set up for fishing, is very comfortable and handles well. I can’t remember a better day on the water! All that said the Captain is an awesome fisherman! We landed 1 25-30 lb Ono and a 25-30 lb Mahi and had a beautiful marlin strike that didn’t hook up. I hope I’m fortunate enough to go out with Blue Zone again!!!

My wife and I were relative newbies to offshore and inshore fishing but Captain Seth Foreman provided us a most excellent experience. His ability to effectively and clearly explain the different methods and strategies that we’d be trying put us at ease and led us to working together as a team. Seth’s previous experience as a teacher and athletic coach shown through in this regard. This was critical when both wife and I hooked up with a pair of mahi mahi at the same time leading to an exhilarating and slightly chaotic period on the boat. Both fish were successfully landed (and enjoyed for dinner that night as ceviche and grilled steak!). Similarly, when we switched to inshore fishing with non-stop bites including fighting a huge ulua (giant trevally), Seth kept us on task resulting in us having a blast. I highly recommend a day in the blue zone with Captain Foreman. Top notch gear, a great personality and a focus on making clients having the best experience. Thanks!!
