The main Salmon species include Chinook ('King'), the largest and most powerful; Coho ('Silver'), smaller but acrobatic; and Atlantic Salmon, a native species now being restored. Trout species include Lake Trout, a deep-water native that can grow very large; Brown Trout, a beautifully spotted European import; and Rainbow Trout/Steelhead, known for their explosive runs and leaps. Together, they create one of North America's premier freshwater sport fisheries.
