Skipjack, Snapper (Blackfin), Longbill Spearfish, Blue Marlin, Roosterfish, Black Marlin, Striped Marlin, Lane Snapper, Swordfish, Sailfish, Cubera Snapper, and more could be biting, depending on conditions.
You can expect to do some spinning, popping, trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
You'll be dropping lines from a 40' Yate a motor with capacity for 7 passengers. It comes with outriggers, all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There's a toilet on board for your convenience.
Your captain will provide rods and reels, as well as lures.
You'll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. Mates often work for tips and it's customary to offer them a 10–20% tip.
You might need to get a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
Don't leave home without bottled water, sunglasses, and sunblock (non-spray). Drinks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be food and some light snacks provided on board.
