The company is owned and operated by a local guide – Captain Fil, who is an experienced and patient fisherman. He is a USCG-certified captain and was raised on the coastal waters.
Take a ride with Lur'em In Fishing aboard a 21' boat, which comes powered by a 250 HP Suzuki engine. It has a maximum cruising speed of 45 knots and is ideal for saltwater fishing. The vessel is equipped with a VHF radio, an anchoring system to stop at the best fishing spots, an ice-box, and a live bait tank.
Lur'em In Fishing offers half and full-day trips for 3 anglers. Captain Fil is a great teacher. He enjoys fishing with a novice and a pro alike, so your experience doesn't matter. The captain specializes in a variety of fishing techniques, including bottom fishing, Flounder gigging, drift fishing, jigging, trolling, spinning, popping, and fly fishing. He will guide you through the best ways to land Redfish, Speckled Trout, Red Snapper, Black Drum, Sheepshead, Alligator Gar, and many other species.
Lur'em In Fishing will provide you with your fishing rods, reels, tackle, live bait, and lures. The Captain may also offer drinks during the trip, so you can bring your snacks with you. Your fish can be cleaned and filleted by Marker 37 at 60 cents a pound. They have an outstanding staff at offered that for you to have it ready of dinner when you get home after your adventure.

we had a blast catching fish!!!!
We had a great day out on the water. I had the pleasure of having awesome customers that had never been on a boat. Thank you for allowing me to be your guide and being apart of create everlasting memories.
From the start of the day to the end, Capt Cortez was phenomenal! During our charter, we had some unexpected windy - windy conditions and you could tell Capt Cortez was a master of his domain behind the wheel of his boat. He was able to keep us in perfect positions to catch fish and safe in the rapidly moving water. As a bonus we saw the compassion of the Capt as he was able to help a couple jet-skiers who fell off and were separated from their party. With their jet-ski moving farther away, we scooped one up, while another boat picked up the other and reunited them with their vessel. Surely this could’ve ended badly if not for quick thinking of Capt Cortez and others like him. No doubt we will be booking again with Capt Cortez in the new year to catch those monster Redfish and Black Drum. Thanks again for the great time & great conversation!
Here’s to anyone looking to take home some fish..I booked Captain Cortez again due to an awsome first time trip. Well what can I say Captain Cortez did it again. With out hesitation He put us on some big reds and drum.. Man I could not believe this.. I was so happy and pleased on how Awsome his trips have been. From start to finish Capt B made our trip memorable and exciting. The tackle was perfect and provided worry free casting and retrieval. Capt B had some tried and true tricks that put us on the fish. Usually an unsuspected North wind shift would kill the trip, on the contrary, Capt B re-racked and put us right back on the fish. Finishing up, there is a fish cleaning service back at Marker 37 dock that made quick work of the fish cleaning. Thank you B

Took my son and my grandson out with Captain Cortez. His communication was great. He was very friendly, very patient. He is engaged with everyone. Though we got off to a slow start he kept everyone engaged. We ended up with some good fish in the boat. Then Captain Cortez recommended a good place to cook it. Most importantly he made sure my Son and Grandson had a good time. We will definitely be back !!!

Captain Fil Cortez has been fishing for over 20 years. He was raised on the coastal waters of Corpus Christi. Fil comes from a family of fishermen, so his passion for fishing began at a very early age. Having participated in various tournaments, Fil decided to start his own company. He enjoys sharing his experience and knowledge with his clients throughout the Coastal Bend area.
