Spend the whole day fishing the waters around South Shore, Newport, and Rhode Island Sound, as well as Block Island waters. This trip will see you hook into a huge range of species, from Stripers and Bluefish to Sharks and ground fish like Cod.

We book a lot of these trips. Many people don't want to spend 6 hours at sea but they want to experience a slice of the Rhode Island ocean. This trip is short and sweet. We leave the dock at noon and have you back at 4:00 Our goal is to catch fish and have fun doing it. A common target is black sea bass and fluke, but if striped bass and blues are close by we will target those too. Plan on a fish supper when you get home.
All equipment is furnished for all types of fishing from inshore species including Black Sea Bass Porgy, Fluke, and Striped Bass and Bluefish. Offshore Tuna trips are also available.
Inshore fishing in Rhode Island is well known for its large Striped Bass, plentiful amount of Black Sea Bass, and one of the best places to catch Tautog. With a half day trip, we will be able to target one or two of the major inshore species depending on the conditions and time of the year.
Half Day Inshore trips are more targeted to ground fishing for Fluke Seabass and Scup as well as Black fishing in the spring fall and winter
Flounder fishing in Rhode Island, United States draws anglers to clean bays and swift tidal edges. These Flatfish offer tasty fillets and fun action. You will find Summer Flounder, also called Fluke, and Winter Flounder in local waters.
Most captains target Flounder by drifting and bottom fishing. They use bucktail jigs tipped with squid or Gulp, simple fluke rigs, and light spinning tackle. Crews work sandy flats, channel edges, and reef edges, then follow the tide to keep baits near the bottom.
Trips are usually half day, with calm inshore options great for families and first-timers. Your captain typically supplies rods, tackle, and bait, and often cleans your catch. Bring sun protection, a light layer, non-marking shoes, snacks, and a small cooler for fillets.
Rhode Island offers varied grounds that hold Flounder through the warmer months. Narragansett Bay has channels, bridges, and flats that produce steady bites. Block Island Sound, the Sakonnet River, and Mount Hope Bay offer classic drifts along sand and gravel. Near Newport, Point Judith, and the South County beaches, nearshore shoals and reefy edges are proven areas when the tide runs.
