Mount DesertThis trip targets halibut. We will set out long-line tub trawls in the morning and haul them back in the afternoon, in search of one of the ocean's most delicious fish. While the trawls soak, we can do some bottom fishing & check out the beauty of Maine's coastline. Halibut are restricted to 1/day with a total of 25 for the season.

SacoThis is a full day trip that is sure to wear you out. The trip departs early in the AM and we stay out for a full day of off shore ground fishing. These trips will run from 8-12 hours. We target fish one of the most popular eating fish in the northeast, Haddock, along with many other species of fish. These trips will often see a variety of whales and porpoise. The goal of this trip is to load you up with fresh fish to take home. Be sure to bring a cooler so that you can transport your catch home.
Full Day Ground Fishing Trip:US $1,300This is an 5-hour trip going 10 to 25 miles offshore. We will be fishing in about 200 to 400 ft of water. With this trip you may catch Pollock, cod, hake, haddock, cusk, spiny Dogfish sharks and other fish. We provide all the fishing equipment in bait. On these trips we often see whales, dolphin, and sunfish.

Halibut fishing in Maine, United States means chasing a powerful Flatfish in cold, deep Atlantic waters. Anglers target Atlantic Halibut for their size, strength, and steady pull. The Gulf of Maine offers rugged bottom, rich bait, and a real chance at a trophy fish.
Most captains use bottom fishing and deep dropping over rocky ledges and banks. They drift or anchor and present bait close to the seafloor. Common baits include Mackerel, Herring, or Squid on heavy tackle with circle hooks.
Trips often run offshore and last a full day due to depth and distance. Expect long drifts, patient waiting, and sudden hard hits when fish move in. Bring warm layers, non marking shoes, sun protection, snacks, and motion sickness medicine if needed.
Maine’s best broad areas include the offshore ledges of the Gulf of Maine. Charters frequently work Jeffreys Ledge, offshore banks east of Casco Bay, and Downeast waters toward Grand Manan. These zones feature cold currents, broken bottom, and bait that draw Halibut.
Regulations for Atlantic Halibut are strict and can change. Always check current Maine saltwater license rules, permits, open seasons, and harvest limits before your trip. Your captain will explain the latest regulations and advise if catch and release is required.

Exceeded expectations!
I had an amazing time with Captain Charlie. Caught many fish - salmon and lake trout - and got to take home a 6lb salmon and 6lb lake trout. Also saw many bald eagles throughout the morning. I learned a lot and would recommend this to everyone. I'll definitely be booking again.

Great Captain!
Marco the Captain was exceptional with 11 year old bous and a book of knowledge and plain and simple just nice! We caught our own bait, checked lobster traps and learned about the area! It you want a true Maine experience book a trip with Marco! We will absolutely book again next year!
