Anglers new to the sport looking for a great introduction to the local fishery will find this trip perfect. You'll fish the inshore and nearshore waters along the beach and back bay, up to 3 miles from shore depending on sea conditions and fish locations. Possible catches include Speckled Trout, Redfish, Mackerel, Sheepshead, and more. A 15–20% tip is customary.
At the peak of the season, you'll have the chance to hit the open waters out in the Gulf for a range of exciting and delicious fish. Troll to entice the bite of anything from Tarpon to Cobia, Kingfish to Amberjacks, and many more. Get ready for an intense battle as you struggle it out against some of these notoriously strong fish and try to fill the boat with something delicious to take home. This trip is trolling only.

Tarpon are the “Silver King” of the Gulf, famous for wild jumps and hard runs. Alabama’s Gulf Coast gives these powerful fish warm water, rich bait, and steady tides. That mix draws Tarpon close to beaches, passes, and the mouth of Mobile Bay during the warm months.
Anglers target Tarpon by sight casting, which means casting to fish you can see near the surface. Drifting live bait also works well around passes and sandbars. Many crews throw large plugs or slow-trolled mullet when fish are deep. Fly fishing with big streamers or crab patterns is a thrilling option on calm mornings.
Most trips start at first light to beat heat and find rolling Tarpon. Your captain will run to the passes, scan the surface, and set up drifts along current edges. Fights can be long, so expect quick boat moves and clear teamwork. Captains typically provide rods, tackle, and bait; bring sun gear, polarized sunglasses, snacks, and a camera.
Top areas in Alabama include the mouth of Mobile Bay and the nearby bars. Dauphin Island and Fort Morgan see summer action along beaches and channel edges. Gulf Shores and Perdido Pass often produce when bait schools gather. Nearshore shoals and tide lines can also hold cruising fish after calm nights.
