The first half of March 2015 produced very good catches of Dorado, wahoo, yellow fin tuna and good marlin action of Ponta do Ouro. 95% of the fish were caught on PULSATOR lures trawling offshore in the deeper purple blue waters with water temperatures averaging around 27.5 degrees. We mainly trawled konas in the 30 to 50 pounds class. The Louies exciter lure produced the most fish and is my personal preferred PULSATOR lure. This lure need very little speed and perform well at high speed too, "smokes" like a steam train and "swim" with a left/right motion giving it a live like action. I was fortunate enough to see many a dorado coming in with great speed attacking these lures with reels screaming soon afterwards. Catching dorado this time of year is very "late" as they normally frequent our waters around November & December. This might be a good indication that the season might be late giving as the chance for good billfish action still to come. With this in mind, we are looking at working the deeper offshore waters of Inhaca Island / Santa Maria for Mr. Billfish. Fish we caught with the Louies exciter PULSATOR lures, to name but a few species, dorado, tuna, wahoo, cuta, marlin and sailfish. The fishing inshore has been slow with cuta, prodigal son, yellow fin tuna and dorado coming out using bait.
