After a difficult sunrise bait fishing with sabiki, we got enough horse mackerel to start our trip towards deeper waters Started chumming with Sardamatic, it didnt take long for bluefin tunas to show up While drifting i was stumbed about a huge fish just under the boat Decided to trop live bait near bottom and… ? boom, zzzzz slash and silent! It was a big one, judging by the mark on the fishfinder, 400lb+ Getting back down some live bait to try againg, on oversize reel and line this time After 20 minutes of frifting i checked the bait and could believe, nice 10lb Dentex (snapper) got himself hooked on TopGame Circle hook and could tell until retriving since rod was for much bigger fish Definitely a good turnaround even though the big one left

In winter, as the cold weather sets in, baitfish migrate to deeper water where the temperature remains constant. In fact, below the coast the water temperature has dropped drastically and it is no longer a suitable habitat. The predatory fish in turn follow the feed which now reaches depths ranging from 50 to 100 metres. It is not easy to find snapper and amberjack at 25-30 metres, and therefore I migrate south over a rocky bottom of 70 metres. It's a day with the sun and the calm sea, which will help me resist the air temperature which does not exceed 10°C. In the depth sounder I see that there is life on the bottom, large balls of fish are moving in the first 10 metres, and I decide to drop my bait. The absent current makes my maneuvers easier given the great depth. Here are the first ones eaten. The first horse mackerels and sarrani come to the surface. I had followed the fish on their winter migratory path and found them where I was looking for them! Soon they will return to the coast, with the arrival of spring the entire ecosystem comes back to life. In March the first tuna will also return, and they will find our bait in the water!
