Earning the Respect of a Fleet Owner:

The ocean does not give away its trophies, it demands them from the real fishermen. Second day on the water with our friends from Canada. The goal was clear: to go after the mythical and explosive bullfight of the Roosterfish. The Captain traced a strategic route sailing between three impressive islands, looking for those exact currents where the living bait usually unleashes chaos. Although the sea gave us incredible postcards - with sea turtles accompanying us on the route and monkeys greeting from the coast - fishing demanded iron patience. We saw giant barracudas appear brushing the bait in the currents, playing with the tension of the crew, but without deciding to attack. After three heart attack opportunities that put our hearts in our throats, the reward came: a large needlefish that gave a spectacular fight before being photographed and returned home safe and sound. Fishing is not a supermarket; it is a strategic battle against nature. Thanks to this great group for keeping the vibe high and demonstrating what true sportsmanship is! Our new friends boarded with the illusion of debuting in Costa Rican waters on their first day in the country, and luck did not take long to respond: just an hour and a half after having set sail and just pulled the lines, pum! The rod was bent with the first yellowfin tuna of the day. Unfortunately, the rough sea and aggressive waves began to do their thing. As we always recommend to our customers, going to the local pharmacy for preventive 'armament' for dizziness is key to enjoying the day 100%. We were forced to withdraw from the hot area for the comfort of the group just when a second tuna was released before we could secure the line. On the return we tried to look for revenge in other points, but after almost 5 hours of battle (out of the 8 scheduled), the group preferred to cut the start and return to dry land to rest. A day of learning, a good tuna in the cooler and intact respect for sea conditions. Curiously, the departures that begin with a slight delay usually end accompanied by that mystique that every fisherman recognizes: less desire and better vibes in the water. We had the pleasure of attending to a group of young Israelis in search of regular action. The sea responded strongly and demanded them to the maximum. The battle was hard: between fatigue and technical work in the exchange of reeds, we missed four yellowfin tuna. Even so, thanks to the persistence of the group and the support of our crew in the most critical moments of the fight, we managed to upload 4 beautiful specimens of excellent size. A day of great gratitude with the ocean, especially remembering how hard the fishing was the previous Saturday on the coast. The sea takes away, but also returns!
