This trip was amazing! my husband and I had a blast! I have been on a handful of ocean fishing trips and this was by far the best. Matt,our captain was well organized, very attentive,full of knowledge and answered every one of my 1000 questions 😉we caught a nice variety of fish and hubby caught a 30 pound amberjack.
Capt. Hugo was very knowledgeable. He put us right on the fish! He was very friendly, helpful and easy to learn from. Triggerfish is my favorite fish and i not only caught my 1st ever, i caught 3! Caught my first tuna! Even got to reel in a tarpon at the end of the day. We caught a variety of yellowtail snapper and vermillion snapper. some kinda red grouper, sone amico? jack I think it was called. so exciting and fun. what a wonderful way to spend my birthday! Thank you!!
We went out and caught our bait which was really fun to watch. It started off a little slow at first but my brother-in-law caught a tuna. We trolled for awhile after that and nothing else. We ended up moving and my husband caught a 5 ft reef shark and my nephew also caught one that was a little bigger. We had one or two more bites but didn't catch anything else. The trip was fun and exciting our captain did a great job. We would definitely book with him again!
Did the 2pm run and Nate was our captain for the half day. Had a little pow wow and decided to go out to the ledge and try out luck. Nate had us rigged in no time for some trolling and not 5 mins in had 2 on. Two rainbow runners. Reset the lines and the deep runner was spooling out less then 10 mins later with a wahoo then it just went nuts.. 2 more wahoo in less then 20 mins right on too a school of Tuna.. one being a monster skipjacks.. had 4 lines hooked up at once with only two of us.. 6 plus tunas landed with one broken off and one bite clean in half.. after then it was getting later and set up a slow troll on the way in that netted 3 Mahi Mahi to end the day. Nate was freaking fantastic.. stayed on point, cool and collected the whole time. I cant say you'll have this kinda luck but I hope you do. Back at the dock he cut up a nice selection of fish for us to take and even recommend local restaurants that can cook em up if needed. A Honeymoon adventure we will NEVER forget Nate with Double Head made a truly memorable experience Thanks Nate
The fish tried to hide but Captain Hugo found them. Pulled in a massive marlin then did some bottom fishing for dinner. Then just as we thought we were done and headed back, Hugo spotted a school of Mahi and flipped us around for a little more action. 10/10, can't wait to come back!
We had such an amazing experience with Double Header. It was our second time fishing with Nate. Double Header never disappoints. We caught an abundance of fish and had a great time doing it. Nate is the best. So attentive, knowledgeable, fun and patient with my kids. This is by far the best adventure and have tried them all. Can't wait to go again.
