The Limit 

Our trip just fell on one of those days. The radio chatter was silent and boats were calling it early. However, Skipper Ross found us a kelp paddy where our 4-pack pulled in 30+ yellow fin. Ryan was a machine pulling and rebaiting hooks to get us back in. It was fast, furious, and fun. On our trip we felt like the Kings of San Diego.

My family and I love to fish in Colorado an really wanted to try catching something on the ocean. Captain Jason, Ty, and Joe were so wonderful to work with! Every one of us caught something and really enjoyed ourselves. They made the trip enjoyable and those four hours flew by! I would 100% recommend this to a friend and would do it again!

mike and Jeff were great. helpful and willing to teach us (party of 3) the ropes of sea fishing. we ended catching star and Vermillion. Definitely worth the trip and would recommend to anyone.

The crew went above and beyond , they did everything they could to go after yellow tail, and swordfish, we just could get a bite. We did cath some rock fish and that made the trip for me: to see my grandsons catch something made it worth it.. Thanks Mike and Jimmy and of course Nate..

Had a great time with Captain Gerald and Lowel. We booked this PM trip last minute after another charter had to cancel due to mechanical issues. They were quick to accommodate and get us all taken care of. Not a lot of bites, but that was more due to season and time of day. But our sons still both hauled in fish, including two sharks! Gerry and Lowel were both very knowledgeable and great with the boys. Definitely will be booking them for a longer trip when we're back in the future!

Jeff was our Captain for the day and he was awesome. He taught my son and me all about fishing the SD Bay and was very patient as he did. Jeff's knowledge of the local area made it easy for my son to destroy me in our fishing competition and it sent us home with plenty of halibut to eat. The Witchy Woman is an extremely fast and stable boat, and it handled the rougher water of the day without issue. I would have zero hesitation taking this boat out to the islands or on an all-day tuna trip. Excellent experience and highly recommended to anyone of any level of experience. Thanks, CPT Jeff!!!!

Had a great time with Captain Ross and Noah. They were great company, really attentive to our lines. I had never caught a fish. Now I have caught 4. My fishing buddy Jim, caught dinner. A nice size halibut! Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. AND I’m a local😎

A friend and I went for a half-day fishing charter with The Long Run Sports Fishing a few weeks ago and had a great and exciting experience. I should preface we have little to no fishing experience and although we were open to any experience, we both totally enjoyed the one Long Run provided. While out, the water around the boat began to "boil" -a term that was new to me-. I had never seen the water's surface teaming with so many fish. The captain said it was Mackerel and related they weren't good eating as they are too fatty and very fishy tasting. Unpleasant was the word he used. But I didn't care, I wanted to catch one. What followed was an experience right out of a Loony Tunes Cartoon. I had a lure at the end of my line and all I had to do was cast my line out and within less than a second, I had a fish to reel in. It was soooo exciting. Who cared if it was crappy mackerel, I was having a blast! In a matter of 20 or so minutes, I caught 43 mackerel!!! All I had to do practically was throw my line in the water and whip it back in the boat. It certainly wasn't a traditional or anticipated experience. Together my friend and I caught 76 fish. What to do with 76 fishy fatty mackerel? We gave them to Long Run for shark fishing at a later date. Apparently, mackerel make for great chum for attracting sharks. It would have been great to catch something edible, but edible or not, we had an awesome time. Beyond the fishing, the captain and crew were great help and all their fishing equipment was in good order. They were hoping we'd catch anything other than mackerel and were encouraging us to ignore the mackerel boil and try for skipjack, flounder or something else. As it was just me and my friend, they were really accommodating to our limited experience and our limited requirements. In a sense it was like going deer hunting and being overjoyed with hunting squirrels instead. Admittedly, we were easy to please. I would highly recommend chartering with The Long Run Sportfishing group. We were extremely pleased and will be definitely chartering with them again. FIVE STAR crew. FIVE STAR experience.

Captain Jason and Deckhand Sergio were Amazing. Without any Real ocean fishing experience we were helped every step of the way! So many fish caught we lost count! No joke! Halibut, Rockfish, bass and Redfish, along with several Species I don’t remember the names of. We had the Best trip Ever. Sergio kept our hooks baited and Captain Jayson kept us on the fish every stop we made! The boat was well equipped and Very Comfortable, OUR Safety was never in question. Always felt safe and secure. You won’t find a Captain & crew that will treat you better or keep you On the bite better! If you looking for a Day trip on the ocean in San Diego, Hook up with, “The limit,” or ,”The Long Run,” boats and Have n experience to remember. We will Do it Again!!. Charles & Janet.

I had an amazing fishing trip with The Longrun. From start to finish, everything was top-notch. The captain was knowledgeable, professional, and clearly passionate about fishing, which made the whole experience both fun and productive. The boat was clean, well-equipped, and comfortable, and we felt safe the entire time. The crew worked hard to put us on fish and were great about helping with gear, techniques, and tips, no matter your experience level. We caught plenty of fish and had a great time doing it.
