Whitecap Charters-Petoskey 

My father, brother, and I had a nice time out with Captain Adam. We caught our limit for lake trout and tried for salmon, but it was too early in the evening. The boat was nicely equipped, and the dock was easy to find. Parking was easier than I thought it would be. It is one street over from the marina and wasn’t crowded which I thought it would be because the main street it connects to was jampacked at that time of day. This was our first charter trip so a bit more information about what was happening would have been helpful. When all the rods started getting set up, we weren’t actually sure we’d be doing anything at all except watching. But as it turns out, we are the ones to reel the fish in. An FYI, if you’re new like us.

We had an absolutely phenomenal time. I had never caught a lake trout before and my girlfriend and I got some absolute tanks to take home. Captain Art was awesome. He was very professional, patient and knowledgeable. He was very attentive and on top of his game. We had a close call with another charter boat. I didn’t see it until they were passing us, I was in the middle of fighting a fish. This other charter boat passed us at a very close distance (20-25 ft) going at a very high rate of speed. Had Captain Art not been paying attention and throttled up and moved us, we would have had a collision. Because of his expertise and attention to detail, my girlfriend and I lived to fish another day. I will recommend this service and captain to anybody and everybody. Will be fishing with y’all again. Captain Kent was super and very personable. That guy knows his stuff and put us on some fantastic fishing. Put some nice Kings & Lake Trout in the cooler. This was truly a wonderful time on the lake. Thank you very much Captain Kent Lee & Linda

The bite was slow for all boats, all evening. However, Kent he put in a little extra time and we put 4 quality fish in the boat in about 20 minutes! That kind of effort is appreciated!

Went on a Monday 4PM to 8PM trip. Captain was laid back and worked hard putting us on fish. We caught our limit of some fat lake trout. This is the best charter I have booked in the area so far. I would recommend without any hesitation.

Had an amazing time! Captain was friendly, very intuitive and helpful. He trolled three different styles to maximize our chance in catching fish and it payed off as we caught plenty! Boat was comfortable and meeting to go out was very easy. Pretty much everything you would want in a charter plus they clean your catch after and have a nice spot to take pictures of your catch. Will definitely be going out on Whitecap charter again in the future!

Driving through Michigan on our cross country road trip, I wasn’t about to pass up going on a fishing trip on one of the Great Lakes! I booked Whitecap Charters online, it was an easy process. Captain Kent contacted me a few days before my trip and then again the day before. The pick up location was easy to find. Captain Adam and Captain Josh were our guides for the charter. They were on time, good attitude, happy fun guys, the boat was ready to go when we got to it and they supplied all that was needed for a fun day. As someone who goes fishing frequently I truly love the full experience, catching fish is a bonus ;) I suppose I showed up with low expectations knowing that the setup can be great but if the fish aren’t hungry no one can control that. Both Captains seemed more confident than I, and man did they know their stuff! My dad and I had so much fun catching bigger fish than we ever have before! Captain Adam and Josh are pros. They did all the poll setups, they kept the boat clean, they taught us about the boat and the different poll set ups, fun to chat with, and they even cleaned and fillet the fish we caught. Wonderful experience 10 out of 10. We look forward to chartering with them again in the future!

Good day of fishing. Captain Art took us out and put us on fish almost immediately. Limited out in an hour and a half. Lots of fun, highly recommend White Cap Charters. Captain Art was pleasant and personable and good at what he does. He didn’t mind answering questions and I had a lot of them, Lol
