We booked an 8-hour charter with Captain Murray and the day could not have been better. We are keen fishos who wanted to make the most of our time on the water, and Murray understood that perfectly. He put us onto quality fish the entire trip and we fished every second we could. We landed well over 40 fish including Red Emperor, Coral Trout, Sweetlip, and plenty of exciting by-catches to keep things interesting. Murray delivered great banter, expert guidance, and an awesome lunch as well. His support, knowledge, and passion for what he does really showed throughout the day. If I could give 10 stars, I absolutely would. Thanks mate, what a memorable day! 🎣🙌

Captain Murray Story will make sure you catch fish. He puts in the extra work and isn’t content to just sit and wait for a spot to “turn on.” His boat and gear are in great shape. He can handle experienced or novice anglers with care and professionalism.

We had an amazing private fishing trip with our incredible captain (pictured in the middle with the blue shirt)—hands down one of the best outdoor experiences we’ve ever had! From start to finish, everything was well-organized, fun, and safe. The boat was spacious and well-equipped, and the captain was super friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about fishing. He patiently guided us through every step, from casting the line to reeling in our catches—and we caught some beautiful fish! 🐟🎣 The scenery was breathtaking. Crystal clear turquoise waters, calm sea, and lush green islands in the background—it felt like a dream. After the fishing, the captain even helped us fillet the fish right on the boat. It doesn’t get fresher than that! Huge thanks to the captain for making this day so memorable. Highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting the Whitsundays or nearby area. Whether you’re a seasoned angler or a first-timer like some of us, this trip is absolutely worth it!

Murray from Catch My Drift Charters was absolutely outstanding! His local knowledge of where to find the fish was second to none — he took us straight to the best spots, and we were pulling them in non-stop. What really made the trip special was how fantastic he was with the kids; his patience, enthusiasm, and knack for keeping them engaged turned it into a fun and memorable adventure for the whole family. We left with big smiles, plenty of fish, and even better memories. Couldn’t recommend Murray more highly for an unforgettable day on the water!

We booked an 8 hour fishing, snorkeling and sightseeing tour with Catch My Drift. I thought that I was ambitious trying to get all three activities in an 8 hour day. Murray was able to tailor our trip to ensure we experienced the best the Whitsundays had to offer. He was knowledgeable, experienced and knew all the unique and quiet spots to explore. Although the fish were being a little shy, we managed to snag a stunning coral trout. I would highly recommend Murray for anyone looking for an exceptional Whitsundays experience.

Captain Murray was happy to take us anywhere we wanted to go and showed us all the best fishing spots and took us to Whitehaven beach island where my fiancé and I were left to explore the beach. We took many photos of the beautiful scenery from the top of the lookout on the beach. We didn’t catch any fish unfortunately but it was just the wrong day for it due to the weather and timing but my fiancé did manage to catch a lovely small fish which we threw back into the ocean. Captain Murray kept up a running commentary about the history of the Whitsundays and surrounding islands and fishing stories which was very informative and interesting.

Murray from catch my drift provided a most memorable experience. His local knowledge was great and he knew where the fish were. We can’t recommend him highly enough.

Booked a suprise getaway for my partner and friend for fathers day. Its all they talk about and how amazingly the ride itself was aswell as the good banter & company from the captain! We will definitely be booking again hopefully soon!

Can’t recommend Murray highly enough. Worked hard to put us on the fish and tried every method you can think of. Boat is in amazing condition. Murray is clearly an avid fisherman, he shared in the excitement with every fish!
