I can't tell you the first time I caught a fish at the Outer Banks but I can tell you that most of my greatest memories growing up have been centered on fishing around Hatteras Island. I have a true passion for fishing, which has led me to fish at a competitive level for most of my life. After graduating from high school, I was lucky enough to further my education and am currently finishing my Doctorate Degree at the University of South Carolina. During my time in school I have represented multiple universities in Bassmaster, Boat U.S. and FLW college bass fishing events.
I currently represent the Gamecock Bass fishing team during the most fruitful time of its existence. Together, we have won back-to-back FLW national championships and already have two teams qualified to compete in the 2017 National Championship. During my experience as a competitive fisherman. I have represented a number of leading brands in the fishing industry including: Berkley, Lews Reels, ALX Rods, Costa etc.

Halvdag – Kustnära/Kustnära • 6 vuxnaCapt Ethan quickly found us some hungry blue fish. We all caught some and often had all rods hooked up at once. After the blues we changed it up and fished for shark. Each of my sons hooked into nice sized black tips which was thrilling. Capt Ethan was able to unhook and release them which provided for some nice pictures. Capt Ethan was very accommodating and friendly. Overall a very memorable day fishing on the Seas the Day. Would highly recommend this charter.

Halvdag – Kustnära/Kustnära • 6 vuxnaThe bluefish were really active and Ethan did great keeping us on top of them. He put a few on the rod for us at first before we had him running around to unhook fish. Between three of us, we hit our limit within two hours. We puttered around see if anything else was biting and caught a few spanish mackerel before heading in. Overall it was an awesome experience. Ethan was a great guy, we will definitely be back next time we are in the outer banks.

Ethan sympathized with us and took us to a sand island where we could snorkel, view sea life, and hunt for shells…the island was beautiful! And we had a blast! Recommend him 💯

Good mahi fishing offshore! Big sheepshead spawning nearshore. Chomper blues and tons of spanish around. Seeing a few cobia aswell!

Who likes seared yellowfin tuna???

The yellowfin tuna are still being caught off the coast of hatteras. We caught this one about 30 miles from the inlet in about 280 ft of water. Other species of tune such as Blackfin, Atlantic Bonito and false Albecore were also caught on standup tackle using a vertical jig. After the sun was high we switched up and found a nice weed line that was holding some gaffer sized dolphin. We picked up a few heading south against the stream. We stopped by the tower on the run home but there was no sign of Cobia. As water temps warm we hope the Cobia will make a strong showing in late May through early June.

The Dolphin bite is still on fire! If your looking to pack your freezer full of Mahi steaks now is the time to get out there. Lots of gaffers in the 20-pound range are being caught and schools of bailers are showing up.

The fishing is hot right now both inshore and offshore. Boats are are limiting out on dolphin and and the cobia bite is as good as it gets. check out this citation cobia!
