Halvdagstur (morgonsession) • 2 vuxnaKapten Miguel och styrman Lino var båda fantastiska - vänliga, engagerande och fulla av kunskap om Panama, de lokala vattnen, djurlivet, historien och naturligtvis det bästa sättet att fånga fisk! Vi körde 30 minuter förbi lastfartygen vid kanalens inlopp till 30-metersbottnen där vi trollade och fick napp på en svartfenad tonfisk på ungefär 5 minuter. Nappen var jämn under de följande 90 minuterna och vi landade 4 tonfiskar och en fin Mahi Mahi. Lino filéade fisken åt oss, och vi avslutade med lite sashimi och ceviche på förmiddagen. Wow! Det började bli varmt, så vi körde till Taboga för en snabb titt runt, sedan tillbaka in. Toppen av Panama!

Vid 8-tiden på morgonen hade vi redan fångat så mycket fisk att det började kännas rutinmässigt, så vi fortsatte för att leta efter mer svårfångad fisk. Min son hoppades verkligen på att fånga en Dorado (Mahi Mahi) som han hade gjort för några år sedan. Även om han inte fick någon, lyckades vi ändå fånga 3 olika arter. Vår kapten, Miguel, var fantastisk! Han serverade oss färsk tonfisk sashimi direkt ombord. När vi stannade vid Taboga för lunch lagade restaurangen han tog oss till även till en del av vår tonfisk. Det var häftigt att se så många olika typer av fartyg under dagen och lära sig mer om vad varje fartyg transporterade. Tack för en minnesvärd dag!

Heldagstur – Taboga Island • 2 vuxnaKapten Miguel och styrman Pooras var fantastiska! De vet hur man fiskar, var mycket informativa om landet och visade underbar gästfrihet!! Vi fångade en stor segelfisk och en Dorado (Mahi Mahi) som vi njöt av som läcker ceviche ombord, och lite till lunch på Toboga Island. Vi fångade också en tonfisk som de beredde sashimi av, samt en grouper. Flera fiskar till högg men spottade ut kroken innan jag fick upp dem ombord. Kunde inte ha varit nöjdare med upplevelsen på Blue Lobster med Miguel och Pooras. Jag rekommenderar 8-timmars fischecharter eftersom varje del av det var fantastiskt! Jag hade inte velat missa någon del av den underbara upplevelsen de gav mig!! Vilken dag på vattnet!!!

När en fisk nappade var det vår tur att glänsa. Vid ett tillfälle hade alla 4 spön en fisk på kroken. De guidade oss och hejade på oss när vi drog in dem. Vi fångade totalt 8 fiskar, varav 1 var en Dorado (Mahi Mahi). Boris rensade den direkt på båten och vi hade färsk ceviche inom några minuter. Skulle ta den här turen 100 gånger om. Vi hade en kanontid. Stort tack till Miguel och Boris för att de gjorde det oförglömligt.

Heldagstur – Taboga Island • 1 vuxenJag bokade 8-timmars turen i hopp om att få napp på Dorado (Mahi Mahi) eller Segelfisk - Efter en lovande start dog aktiviteten av. Kapten Miguel och Lino gjorde allt för att få mig på fisk, men det var helt enkelt en sådan dag. De är mycket kunniga om områdets flora och fauna samt landet - så jag lärde mig mycket och fick se en del fantastiskt djurliv medan vi försökte få något på kroken. Kpt Miguel förklarade hela tiden sin spelplan och under den sista timmen fick vi äntligen napp. Jack Crevalle och Spansk makrill hittade sin väg in i båten och jag njöt av en god sashimi. Överlag en fantastisk upplevelse. Man kan inte klandra researrangören eller besättningen för en långsam dag och skräpet som flöt i vattnet, vilket ledde till ett 4-stjärnigt omdöme.

Fishing in Panama during the rainy seaso

This week, we have been getting the first few rains of the season. This means nutrient-rich waters from the warmer South Pacific will attract microorganisms, which will then attract the upper stages of the food chain, in other words, bigger fish. Pelagics like tuna, mahi, sailfish, and Marlin will be our predominant bites until November.
This day, as we were passing the deepest waters on the way to the Pearl Islands, with an average of 200 feet deep waters, we encountered huge bait balls full of diving birds, which gave us the first indicator of fish around while deciding where to throw lines we spotted some dolphins. There's something that we can tell with dolphins: tuna. We started shifting our lures to cedar blocks on our trolling lines and had our spinning lines with poppers ready to cast them. Whenever we got a bite on the trolling Lines, we immediately cast those poppers and maximized tuna bites. Welcome to Panama game fishing mecca! Sail fish surpise!

The fishing species in Panama are pretty well marked mainly in 2 seasons:
The rainy season is in the summer; this time, the waters get warm, which is best for sea fishing. The other season is winter, which is not a cold winter (same temperatures as summer), but it's when the water gets chilly. And we focus on deep-water species.
However, between these marked fishing species seasons, there are unexpected species surprises! For example, since June, we've been getting a more active than usual number of sailfish on our bites.
From half-day trips to Extended trips, the extended South Pearl Islands and full-day Pearl Islands have the most sailfish catches. We practice catch-and-release for this species, and when possible, we board the species for a nice picture and then release it.
The most popular lures for attracting them have been Ballyhoo rigged with an artificial skirt and normal fake surface squids.
