Captain Fernando has been fishing Redfish Bay for over 24 years. fishing is an absolute passion and taking people fishing and witnessing the enjoyment of others, catching reds and trout is what I love the most.

    First fishing trip and nothing will top it.

    Wife and I moved from California to San Antonio, we are carpenter and electrician couple. Decided to go fishing in Aransas Pass, and found Fern as our guide. We caught 7lb redfish, trout and a 20lb Bonnethead Shark. We crossed off everything on our bucket list for a fishing trip. Fern was a solid guide that loves his trade. As a carpenter foreman i look for guys that love there trade and as far as fishing goes Fern loves his trade and it shows in his work. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a trip. We will be coming back again and again. Support this Captain and give him his shot, there is not many out there like him.

    It was my pleasure to take yall out and provide a memorable experience. Fishing was tough but yall hung in there and gave me an opportunity to find some solid fish. I look forward to having yall out again. Wishing you both all the best my friend.

    Exceptional Captain and an Unforgettable Family Fishing Trip!

    My wife and son had an incredible guided fishing trip and caught six redfish! The captain was exceptional from start to finish. He even picked them up directly from our private dock, which made everything extremely convenient and gave them more time out on the water. He was patient, knowledgeable, and took the time to teach our son some great fishing skills along the way. At the end of the trip, he cleaned all the fish for them as well. It was a memorable experience, and we would absolutely book with him again!

    Fishing wasn’t the best but not for lack of knowledge or effort from Fern. Had a great day with the family on the boat and Fern was full of stories and information that he freely shared. Fun time.

    Tough fishing but good times were had

    Fish were not cooperating all week but Fern was on top of his game and tried everything in the tackle box. super personable and great guy!

    It was a very slow day Fernando was not satisfied until we got Fish. My son caught his first salt water fish!!

    Fish move around our bay system so frequently I often venture out and try some of my Other spots when not on chartered trips. With the tide so low, my bay boat has its limitations but i was determined to walk up on some tailing reds in the skinny water. So off I went with my waterloo and Saltwater assanan morning glory shad with a 1/8oz jig head. Sight casting tailing reds is awesome, however not easy, throwing into the wind in clear water the fish were skiddish. All in all great day, oh and the Trout are moving in already!

    Captain Fern delivered a great fishing experience. We were concerned about the very windy conditions and the full moon cycle, but he put us on some keepers. He was very attentive and focused on finding fish. Would definitely book him again.

Fish move around our bay system so frequently I often venture out and try some of my Other spots when not on chartered trips. With the tide so low, my bay boat has its limitations but i was determined to walk up on some tailing reds in the skinny water. So off I went with my waterloo and Saltwater assanan morning glory shad with a 1/8oz jig head. Made a stop at a drum hole got a few big uglies, then on to the reds. They still like dead shrimp but showed lots of interest in the sea lice.
