New Release Sportfishing 

I’m a bit of an offshore fishing freak, and I was very impressed with the captains and crew of the New Release. All the gear was top notch, the trolling baits were kept fresh, and the layout was clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, we didn’t get any bites. However, it was no fault of the boat… turns out, after gettin in that every other boat in the harbor skunked that day as well. A nearby storm (days away) and full moon are more to blame in my opinion. All this being said, I had an amazing time. The weather picked up (15-20 knts) more than expected, but it was still a comfortable ride. We saw whales, a myriad of different birds, and three different military vessels. I didn’t get a picture, but an aircraft carrier passed us within a mile and a half. That was very cool. My thanks and highest regards to the capt, crew, and vessel of New Release fishing charters.

An overall exceptional experience for my son and I as we celebrated his 14th birthday. Captains Troy & Debbie and Mate Cory worked tirelessly to get us on the fish, were so great to meet and spend the day with, and helped Mason so he could land a Yellowfin, Mahi, and Barracuda. The New Release is an awesome boat, super comfortable, tons of room, clean and a fast workhorse put to the test. Amazing day! We will definitely charter a trip with New Release again and are already looking at dates. I highly recommend them!!

We had a blast going out with Captains Troy and Debbie. We managed to catch 3 yellowfin tuna in about an hour, but they dropped off after those quick hits. They worked with us to get the optimal amount of fish with our trip by doing some deep water bottom fishing for blueline tilefish towards the end of our trip. We almost limited out with the tilefish in about 1.5 hours. They managed to keep us on top of the fish for an exciting finish to the day. We learned catching tuna and deep sea bottom fishing is a great workout. We were exhausted by the end of the day. Tuna fight harder than you think they can and pulling up to 10lb tilefish over 300 feet was more of a challenge than it looks. Be prepared to have Popeye arms for all these fish. Our son had the fun of pulling in two 10lb tilefish at the same time twice, plus another two smaller tilefish at the same time. What a great day. We will definitely do more trips with them in the future.

I booked our trip on fishingbooker and it was an extremely positive and easy experience!! The day I booked I received a phone call and email from Captain Troy, this was very helpful with my questions and explained what my “crew” could expect. I contacted Captain Troy a few times after booking and he was very helpful with my concerns! The boat was clean and comfortable, Captain gave a smooth ride over ocean swells. He also gave us humpback whale sightings! That was a bonus to an awesome fishing trip! The Mates on the boat were first class, Henley and Hunter were very helpful and went above and beyond to enhance our fishing experience! I will definitely book with Captain Troy for my future off shore fishing excursions! We had a party of six, the cabin was spacious enough for us to be comfortable during travel to and from the fishing waters. Our trip was 5/23/21, that being stated, we tried for tuna but they were not hitting. Captain Troy made sure we got our limit of Tilefish! We had a big fight pulling them up from over 300’! After talking with my “crew” of five others, we all agreed this was an awesome fishing trip!!

Captain, his wife, and 1st mate when out of their way to make our group feel welcome during the trip. He was quick to respond back, and even when so far to cancel the trip one day because the water would be too rough. We were able to reschedule for another day, allowing us to have an unforgettable day. Highly recommend New Release to anyone who wants a great experience.

Captain Troy, Debbie and Hanley were an amazing group to fish with. They navigated us quickly safely and comfortably out to sea. Then they kept us right on top of the fish all day and we had a an amazing day catching 5 huge yellow fin tuna and 3 white marlin. What a fight all these fish gave us and we were exhausted at the end of the day from the workout! The boat is clean and comfortable to relax in. Would recommend New Release to anyone! Five stars!

We booked a 12-hour offshore trip with Captain Troy. Of course, we were hoping to land at least one tuna, but we were more than satisfied with the 70 bonito that we pulled into the boat. We started fishing at 7:00 AM and had the entire cooler filled by 8:30 AM. Captain Troy's wife Debbie just kept putting us on fish. There were five of us in the group and we had three separate occasions when four of us or all five of us were reeling in fish at the same time. We averaged landing a fish every 6 minutes. I can't say enough good things about Captain Troy, Debbie and Kyle, the mate. They all worked hard to make sure we had a great time (although we don't need a lot of help in that department), and they were very enjoyable to spend the day with. I would highly recommend booking with them - I can promise we will be on board the next time we have the opportunity. 6 guys enjoyed a great day of bottom fishing on the New Release with Captains Troy and Debbie. We caught well over Black Sea Bass. Debbie ran the boat and put us right on fish with every drift. Troy did his best to keep up with our baits as fast as we pulled fish into the boat. A great day of fishing. Thanks to both Captains.

Great time with Captains Troy and Deb, plus mate Corey. They put in a huge effort to get us what we wanted, and we had a great time. Well worth every penny!
