Southern Saltwater Adventures

We booked the kids trip for our 8 year old son. The Captain showed him how to cast and reel in. Explained the bait to him and was very informative on a kids level. However, I did not think about giving him some medicine to keep from getting sea sick. Our son caught a baby shark and wanted to come back. Our Captain tried to find a spot less choppy but the ocean was not cooperating. He was more than kind and told our son he’s proud of him for speaking up when he was feeling sick. I’m so happy we took the trip and that the Captain was understanding when we had to turn back. Next time, I’ll be sure to give him some Dramamine beforehand because the ocean wouldn’t cooperate!!
Captain Jon took me and my 2 boys out for their fist deep sea trip (ages 8 and 10) for the 10 hour trip. Rough weather in the beginning of the day and pending rough weather at the end of our trip was a concern but Captain Jon navigated the ocean and our adventure like a pro! He worked hard to ensure that we stayed "on the bite" and was hospitable as my boys had a 1,000 questions as the day went on. We had a great day and we will definitely be back to visit Captain Jon on our next trip to Tybee.

Capt. Dan was a consummate professional. Put us on the fish and delivered, drop after drop. Extremely personable and knowledgeable, even helped our whole crew manage our “inner ear issues.” Everything, top to bottom was fantastic and would recommend 100% to anyone looking to catch a bunch of fish off of Tybee! Full salute to Capt. Dan 🫡
On our vacation, my family and I decided last minute, to do a 4hr fishing tour with Captain Jon. It exceeded our expectations and we had a wonderful time. Being on the water as the sun came up was amazing. Captain Jon and Daniel did a wonderful job and worked so patiently and well with our kids. Unfortunately we had to cut it a little short because our little girl got sea sick. But Captain Jon did his best to make her as comfortable as he could. We highly recommend spending the time and money to do this!

I brought my pregnant wife, almost 2 year old daughter, and a family friend. We had a slow morning ing and not much was biting, but we're able to catch a few. My wife mentioned looking for dolphins, and we spent the last couple hours chasing dolphins and getting a private dolphin tour. My wife and family friend couldn't believe how many dolphins we saw and how close they got to the boat. Daniel was very knowledgeable and super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend to everyone.
After having to reschedule 3 times due to unfavorable weather conditions, We found a clear day. Captain Dan and David ensured we had a great time. Daniel was very Knowledgeable about the local fish Species and when to fish for them. He also suggested excellent ways to cook them. We didn’t catch and harvest the fish species we wanted due to season restrictions but landed plenty of keepers. I would definitely recommend Southern Saltwater Adventures.

What a fun trip! We booked our excursion well in advance, and the day turned out to be absolutely perfect. Captain Jon was very responsive when we requested a change to the booking; he called two days prior to the trip to give us updated information, and we texted for location information (hint: there is no signage, and there is no "suite" - it's a boat, so be sure to get specifics from him before taking a trip to the wrong side of the dock!). We stopped to catch bait before we went out to the open. Captain Jon and our deck hand were extremely enthusiastic to sight a huge manta ray with lots of cobia around it, so we stopped and tried our luck there. We ended up quite ways out, but we stopped several times on our way out to be sure we hit all the good spots. We girls baited our own hooks, but didn't remove the fish from the line - this was done promptly and cheerfully. The types of fish we caught were identified by Captain Jon and our deck hand, and they told us whether the fish were good for eating and how best to prepare them. The trip back to the dock was amazing; my sister and I sat in the front and got lots of wind in our hair. Our trip was successful and tons of fun.
Our trip was postponed on the 20th due to weather. We went out today, and it was worth the wait! The guys put us on fish and were a tremendous help to the rookies in our group. I can't wait to get out for a longer trip next time. I highly recommend them. Great job, guys.

I recommend the 6 hour charter. IT was the best charter we have been on. The number of fish caught most we have ever caught. We caught 5 cobia one amber jack one King and a bunch of reef fish. At the end of the trip we hooked into a 6ft shark. There also was never a time that if we needed help they were right there to act a hook or help with a fish. They also helped alot with my daughter she had a great time.
We had a small delay in our fishing trip but Captain Jon was a true sport for allowing us to stay as long as we were able to make up for lost time. We caught multiple different species of fish which was a blast although we were only able to keep a few because of the size limit. It was a great trip and we will definitely call him again if we make it back to Savannah/Tybee Island.

Daniel was great and he did everything he could to put us on the fish. The tide was higher than normal because of the previous night's rain so it took longer to recede. Daniel postponed our departure time by two hours because of the tide. The wind was also tough and was sustained at 19 mph. We were at the right place at the right time but the weather conditions won out that day. No regrets, and would go out again with Daniel anytime. He was so helpful, patient and knowledgeable . I would recommend this Charter and look forward to scheduling another outing in the future.
