Barefoot Guide Service

We had a blast with Captain Jake. He put us on the fish the entire trip and is great with kids. My 7 year old caught an 8 lb hybrid striper!
Captain Chad is the best.
Jakes know the lake and good fishing! Highly recommended. We caught white bass and catfish.

With winds blowing in the 20+mph range and 2-3ft rollers in the lake we set out to try and put sole fish in the boat. Jake’s 24ft Bulls Bay handled the weather amazingly. As hard as Jake tried he unfortunately couldn’t find the big schools of fish we were looking for. We tried quite a few spots so it wasn’t for a lack of effort. We did end up lading 3 fish in some pretty rough conditions and I’d happily go back with Jake on another trip in the same weather in a heartbeat.
Jake can put you on fish. Period. I had been looking for fishing experience which I could share with my grandson. Jake was able to fulfill that with superior knowledge of Lake Lewisville, the conditions we had to work with, the weather, feeding patterns, structure, and what the fish were doing. Originally, we had intended to fish like Grapevine for Crappie. But due to high water conditions, Jake suggested that we switch to Lake Lewisville. And it was a good thing we did, because he put us on hybrids and sand bass and we begin catching fish almost immediately. Within two hours into a five hour trip, we limited out on hybrids. We tried fishing crappie for a couple of hours, but the crappie were just not ready to feed. Jake has thousands of waypoints mapped and so his ability to find the correct structure is amazing. He is also very patient about showing you correct technique, baiting hooks, and dealing with tackle. I would recommend Jake’s services to anyone who is looking for the best opportunity to catch fish and have a great time fishing north Texas lakes.

What started out as a possible rain situation ended up with us catching seven hybrids and one white bass. Even tho the fish were being finicky, Capt Jake did everything he could think of to make sure we were trying to catch fish. Even gave us some amazing evening / sunset photo opportunities!
Coach Chad and Coop were kind, knowledgeable, and got us on the fish. Some friends and I took our young sons out on a morning trip. Everyone caught more than a dozen fish. The kids were amped (the adults lot it as well!). Would recommend 5/5.

It’s sure nice to be able to get on a good boat, with nice gear and a great captain. All we had to do was the reeling! Caught great fish, multiple species and took home some awesome table fair.

If I could give 10 out of 5 Stars I would! We were very welcomed as we met Captain Jakeat the dock and he even had a cooler full of ice for us to put our beverages in. Since I haven't been fishing in over 20 years we decided to book a trip and we are very glad we decided to do that with Jake's company. He took us to all the greatest fishing spots and showed us how to fish with the equipment he provided. It took us a couple hours to get used to fishing and in the right location. We were enjoying the boat ride the entire time and once the fish started biting, we started reeling them in one right after the other! Are 6-year-old loved his first experience and I couldn't have asked for a better guide. Thank you so much!
Captain Jake was a great host for our outing and put us on some hybrid bass. Great Experience.
Captain was an absolute professional number one. 2, we went out really early before 6am and the morning was absolutely beautiful and cool. We caught fish in the dark! Last, we were at our limit on hybrids in less than an hour, they were dam near jumping in the boat! And big ones too! Strongly recommend!

Ernest, thanks for the kind words and we will see ya on the next one!

Always a pleasure to share the boat with you guys, even in some tough fishing conditions! We will see ya on the next one!
