Hook 1 Charters - Key West 

Chandler guides fulltime and it shows. He knew exactly where fish would be and works through colors fast to make sure every cast counts. He gives good instructions when fish are moving to cast to the correct spot. His gear was outstanding and provides G.Loomis rods to use. Even after casting many times, there is no fatigue because the rods are so great. We only used spinning reels at our request this trip, but if I came back I would freshen up my fly-fishing to try that out with him. His boat was perfect for trip as well. Everything about the trip was high quality from rods to the drinking water! I highly recommend booking a trip.

Captain Chandler lives up to his high star ratings. He suggested the night before as we were confirming the details, that we go after Tarpon and boy am I glad we did. The travel time to the Tarpon spots is a little longer than other fish but well worth it. When you hook one you are in for a rodeo ride is they jump buck twist trying to get away. You may lose a couple but the ones that you do land are spectacular experiences. My wife was with me and has only fished a couple of times. He was very patient and helpful getting her acclimated and successfully landing several herself. We will definitely be booking with him again.

Chandler is a very knowledgeable captain and knows where the fish are hiding. With in 5min of our first stop my son caught a 7lb Bonefish. Chandler was flexible with a hectic weather forecast and ensured we still made it out on the water to catch fish. The boat was beautiful and the equipment he provided was top notch. We caught numerous fish and found a large school of Tarpon. If I was a better fly fisherman I would not have spooked the school with the line. All in all an amazing experience. We will definitely go back out with Chandler the next time we are in Key West!

I had a great time fishing with Hook 1 Charters. We had very difficult conditions with a worm hatch the night before that fed nearly every fish in the area. We also faced a full moon bringing in very high tides and winds from a storm. Capt. Chandler worked his tail off trying to put me on fish. In spite of the odds being against us, we caught fish. Had the angler , (me), cooperated better, we would’ve caught many more. If you want a guide that’s patient with his angler and will work very hard to find you fish, you would be wise to book a trip with Capt. Chandler Williams and Hook 1 Charters.

Chandler wants to catch fish! His drive to get you on fish is non stop. We made a longer run than he wanted cause he knew the permit would be there. I wanted to check the permit box! Quick stop a a tarpon hole and holy shit we’re looking for the grand slam. One shot a bone and I blew it. If you want a real guide that can drive a flats boat and keep searching, Chandler is your guy! Cheese and crackers stay home!

Great half day on the water with my son and Captain Chandler...it doesn't get any better than that ! First...Captain Chandler is just a great human being. Beyond his skills as a Fishing Guide, he has guided and performed Humanitarian Services in several countries around the world. He is a skilled and knowledgeable local guide and a fun dude to be around. With respect to our trip... 1. Stop 1 was throwing anchor along side an abandoned pier hoping for a Tarpon strike or two. My son and I each immediately caught 2 good sized Cravelle Jacks. They're not highly rated as a good eating fish but fun to catch and release nonetheless. A few minutes later I hooked and reeled in a big bull Redfish. He was out of the slot so we released him. Not a few minutes later my son caught another beautiful Red that was in the slot. However, Captain Chandler let us know that Reds are not prevalent in Key West waters so we released him. That was a bit painful as they are such good eating fish but it was the right thing to do. 3. We never did get that Tarpon strike but then the fun began. We motored out to the flats (not sure the exact location) to stalk some Bonefish. Saw a couple but no joy. However, there were some monster Permits breaking surface with their tail fins so we poled up as close as we could. If my casting was a little better, we might have gotten one on the line but I'm definitely a fly-fishing hack so I had to cast a few times to land the spinning reel jig in the right place. Thought we were close to pay day until a pesky Barracuda decided to disrupt the party and spook the small school of Perms away. Sooooo close. Followed them around twice more but it wasn't meant to be. I understand they are tough to catch. Regardless, our hearts were pounding and we had a blast stalking them and there is no question that they are out there to be reckoned with. Alas...back to reality and leaving true paradise (Key West) for home/quasi-paradise (Tampa). We'll be back to get after those Permit again with Captain Chandler at the helm ! Definitely recommend a trip with Captain C !

Chandler did a great job. He got us into the fish and it definitely paid off. Last day we hooked a 120lbs+ Tarpon and after 1.5 hr fight pulling us all over we finally finished and we and the fish were done! Great experience!

We had the best time today fishing with Chandler. He really cared about making sure we caught fish and had a great time. He went out of his way to be accommodating. We caught some impressive sized fish. We will use him anytime we are in the area.
