Unser Heimathafen ist die South Beach Marina in Newport Oregon, aber wir unternehmen auch Ausflüge von Depoe Bay, Coos Bay und verschiedenen anderen Häfen in Oregon, abhängig von den Wetterbedingungen und wo das Angeln zu dieser Jahreszeit besser ist.
Die Touren reichen von einer kurzen 5-Stunden-Rotbarsch-Tour bis zu einer 12-Stunden-Thunfisch-Tour. Alle Heilbutt-Touren dauern 10 Stunden. Alle Touren können angepasst werden, um Ihr Angelabenteuer zu maximieren. Krabbenfang kann gegen eine zusätzliche Gebühr zu jeder Tour hinzugefügt werden, mit Ausnahme der Thunfischtouren.
Ihr Angelabenteuer beginnt mit einer Sicherheitseinweisung durch Kapitän Lyle an Bord eines 30 Fuß großen North River Offshore-Bootes, das speziell für die Hochseegewässer der Küste von Oregon gebaut wurde. Es wird von zwei Yamaha 200PS-Außenbordmotoren angetrieben, mit einer geschlossenen Kabine, um sich vor den Elementen zu schützen. Eine Bordtoilette steht den Gästen ebenfalls zur Verfügung. Das Boot ist mit 2 hochmodernen Echoloten/Fischfindern, 3 UKW-Funkgeräten, Radar und einem Autopiloten ausgestattet. Die Prospector kann Geschwindigkeiten von 45 Knoten erreichen, während Sie zu Ihrem Angelziel fahren, und nimmt maximal 6 Angler auf: 4 Angler bei längeren Thunfischtouren.
Alle Ruten, Rollen, Endmontagen und Köder sind im Preis inbegriffen, damit Sie sich auf das konzentrieren können, was wirklich wichtig ist - Fische fangen!
Downrigger und Outrigger werden zum Schleppangeln auf Lachs oder Thunfisch verwendet.
Sie benötigen nur einen Oregon-Angelschein, einen Angelanhänger, wenn Sie auf Heilbutt oder Lachs angeln, eine Schalentier-Lizenz, wenn Sie Krabben fangen möchten, und einige Getränke oder Snacks Ihrer Wahl, um das Beste aus Ihrer Zeit auf dem Wasser zu machen. Mindestens 3 Personen sind erforderlich, damit das Boot ablegen kann, es sei denn, es wurde vorab eine andere Vereinbarung getroffen.

Captain Lyle was responsive during booking and was present and helpful as the trip approached. Highly recommend him and the Prospecter if you are fishing out of the Central Oregon coast. He knew where to find the fish! We limited out on our target halibut with some help from the crew. Would definitely book again!

If you’re looking for the ultimate fishing experience, Captain Lyle of The Prospector is the one you want at the helm. I honestly can’t say enough good things about him — not only is he incredibly knowledgeable about the waters, but he’s also one of the most helpful, down-to-earth, and genuinely enthusiastic captains I’ve ever met. From the moment we stepped on board, Captain Lyle made us feel like pros. He explained everything clearly, set us up with the perfect gear, and knew exactly where to go to find the fish. And not just any fish — more fish than I thought was even possible to catch in one day! I’m not exaggerating when I say I caught more fish on this trip than I probably have in my entire life combined. The man is a legend! Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned angler, Lyle’s patience, guidance, and deep love for what he does make the whole experience unforgettable. We had an amazing day out at sea with Captain Lyle! From the start, he was friendly, kind, and incredibly helpful. We were lucky enough to catch a good amount of crab and Coho salmon, and even though one of us was seasick most of the trip, the water was unbelievably calm and Lyle went out of his way to make sure everyone was comfortable and cared for. He didn’t just help us catch fish—he cleaned our crab and salmon right off the marina and gave us great recommendations on where to get the crab cooked and the salmon processed. His local knowledge and easygoing attitude made the whole experience stress-free and fun. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide. If you're thinking about booking a fishing charter we could not recommend him enough!
Captain Lyle and his wife Stephanie were wonderful hosts on their boat! They informed us of all the requirements on board (no bananas allowed!) upon arrival. The weather was perfect, so the ride to/from the fishing hole was a pleasant one, but not without a bit of excitement. The captain knew the area well and ensured we all reached our limit, plus caught a canary rockfish and some others. Cpt. Lyle and Stephanie hung around upon arriving at the dock, helped fill out catch tags, and ensured that our fish were cleaned, packaged, and ready to go before we left. 10/10, no notes. If anyone wants to know how to run a fishing trip, study Cpt. Lyle.
I took my son and my nephews to fish for black rockfish and crab. We limited out on black rock fish within 1.5 hours of fishing! Crabbing took longer and was a slower day but was still fun. Lyle’s wife/deckhand was very good with my 10 year old boy and the other kids! My little boy always has dozens of questions and she was very patient, knowledgeable, and nice. Overall, I would highly recommend this charter! It was well priced for the experience, a lot of fun, organized, clean, and a great time!
