Still Waters Charters 

I cannot say enough about our trip with Captain Chris. Took wife fishing. We fished inshore, near shore, off the jetties and because conditions allowed and there was a rumor of bonitas on an early run, went 10 miles. Unfortunately, we missed the bonitas, but caught different fish at each location. Looking forward to going out with Captain Chris again!!

Capt Chris was AMAZING! We had novice and seasoned fishermen in our group and everyone walked away with fish, smiling and having learned something. Chris brought us to awesome spots, so many bait/pole variations for the fish we were after. We caught flounder, redfish, trout, puffers, sheaphead, and only a few oysters lol. Very nice boat. We had a great time and will be booking with him again. 11/10 would recommend fishing with Captain Chris.

This was our second charter with Capt Chris and we will definitely be back! Great gear, great boat, he has the best locations. We booked at a weird time with the aftermath of a hurricane and Chris still made sure we got caught fish and had an amazing time. Great DJ! And as a bonus we ended up seeing dolphin (after seeing a manatee with him last time!). Thank you for an awesome charter, Chris!

I had a great time out on the water with Captain Chris. We spoke the day before about what I wanted to target with a couple backup plans depending on weather. Once out there we were actively fishing the whole time which is what I was after. Sitting and soaking cut bait isnt what I was wanted but if thats what you specifically want to do for huge drum or such, he aims to please and will put you in the a good spot to wait on them to roll through. If you are firmly set on just one species I suggest contacting him beforehand to see when the best time of year would be to do a trip for them. I had ideas for targeting certain things but I really just wanted to catch anything fun that was biting. While aiming for sheepshead, several huge croakers just under citation were boated which was exciting. Didnt find any sheepshead this time but I now I know the better time of year he catches them and will most definitely be back then.

My 13-year old son and I booked Still Waters for a six-hour trip and Captain Chris did not disappoint. He was well prepared and we had a great day fishing a variety of spots utilizing different tackle configurations and techniques. We could tell that Capt. Chris' objective was to put us on to fish while teaching my 13-yr old son different techniques. We caught over 20 fish and probably about 10 different species ranging from sheepshead, sea bass, white grunt to gag grouper. We got some keepers to take home for a meal and we learned a lot. We trolled, dock fished for sheepshead and went out to a wreck to bottom fish utilizing various lures, baits and jigs. It was a great experience and we learned a lot from Capt. Chris. We are planning to do another day on the water with him this summer.

Captain Chris was a great guide, super personable, knowledgeable, incorporates you into the plan and teaches as you go. It was a lot of fun going with a smaller company and feeling like the trip was completely tailored to us. Would 100% recommend Still Waters Charters.

Captain Chris worked as hard as any fishing guide we have ever been with. We tried several techniques focusing on a variety of species. But some days fish just don't cooperate. We stayed in to the very end The final results were a great time, a lot of small fish of various species and some nice catch and release flounder. We will return to fish to fish with him.

2/3 of us had never been on the intracoastal waterway and had little experience fishing but we were all excited to get out there. Chris took his time teaching us how and where to cast and gave us tips that helped us land fish all day. He stopped and let us admire dolphins on our way to another spot and stayed busy tying on new rigs for us to try. He was very attentive and seemed eager to help us achieve any goals we had for the day; the main one being, CATCHING FISH! We had a great time. Highly recommend.

The weather conditions were not ideal but Chris was insistent on getting us where the fish were. We used multiple different tactics targeting various types of fish, which we had success doing. We’ve been going on charters in Carolina Beach for 5+ years and this was the most enjoyable experience, regardless of the conditions. Chris is a great guide, and very knowledgeable in various different types of fishing. We’ll look forward to getting with him again next time we’re here.

We had a great day celebrating my Grandson’s birthday on our fishing trip with Captain Chris. He was a very “down to earth” guy and took the necessary time to spend with all of us including my 5 year old Grandson. My Grandson had a great time and is looking to forward when he can go again. I will definitely use his services again and would highly recommend him to anyone looking to charter a future fishing trip.
