Half Day Trip – Weekday Special PM am Juli 18, 2025 • 3 Erwachsene • 3 Kinder

Maybe it was the cold snap in mid-July, maybe it was the great crew, we know it wasn’t our expert angling… but whatever the cause, we caught BIG fish and GREAT numbers! The captain was patient out group aged 4 to 74. We caught about a dozen lakers, and a coho and king salmon to boot. We lost a few too on our own account. With the amount of fish we had, we elected to wrap up our half-day trip a half hour early to catch the next lift bridge passing. It took some hustle to get lines in, but Joe and his first mate worked fast. Joe’s boat rips, and we made it with a few minutes to spare.

Joe’s gear is exceptional and his boat was immaculate for a charter fishing vessel. Loved having backrests on the benches. He kept it clean, helped all the kids and grandparents to hold fish, get pics, and keep the tip up when dealing in some 10+ pounders. If I ever charter out of Superior again, I’ll look to Joe first. Thanks for a great trip!

My family and friends entered Captain Joseph’s boat laughing and experiencing great vibes and we exited his boat laughing and having experienced Captain Joseph’s impressive stand up comedy routine, knowledgeable q&a sessions, and control and devotion as a boat captain! Prior to the trip, I referred him to other people in town, and after the trip, my crew and I are already spreading the word to book Captain Joseph for your fishing guide. All the adults loved his hustle and down to earth personality. And we caught fish - King Salmon among our catches!

We had 2 fish in less than 30 minutes. Know one else had any fish yet. It was a windy afternoon and Happy Hooker (Peter) torpedoed us head on so he could copy our route. Not good outcome. We had no choice to run over his planner board and rope ended up around our lines and down rigger cables. What a mess. We were left with no lines in water for a hour. Joe got us back on course and caught 5 more fish. If you don’t want to catch fish go with happy hooker. They came up empty! Great job Joe!!!

Absolutely the best Captain & Crew even for a kid with autism!!

I booked this trip for my husband & 2 sons ( ones autistic),  they had such an amazing time, I’d give him 10 stars!  They learned a lot about the lake, & caught many fish.
This by far was the best money I spent in Duluth.  His staff Jack & Fiancé were so kind, great people they can’t wait to do it again.
Bonus is they were understanding to my son with autism so that makes a mom proud.
( other boats went out & didn’t catch fish) 

Thank you all for the memories they made!

What a great time!

My husband and I totally enjoyed ourselves and Captain Joe was very accommodating and fun.  We caught enough fish to fill my freezer with beautiful salmon.  His boat is comfortable and he is very attentive to what his customers want.  However bring your sense of humor this guy is jokester and if you place a bet with him, beware of the shanagins he comes up with to win.  Highly recommend him and his crew.  Adam was on point every time with the net to bring in our catch.
