I booked this trip as a surprise for my husband for Father’s Day. We had a great time. We caught our limit on Walleye. We couldn’t of asked for a better day! Sean and Rene (1st mate) were fantastic. Did not make it feel like they were running a business. It felt like a group of friends out on the lake. They were so willing to explain everything and how the rigs worked. The fact that we limited out surprised us. Just did not know what to expect. Definitely recommend them if you want to have a great time and feel like your fishing with friends.
Sean with Waymaker was absolutely wonderful to work with! My husband and I had such an amazing experience from start to finish. He was incredibly patient with us and made sure we had a great time the entire trip. We didn’t even make it out of the parking lot before we were already looking at dates to book another trip with him! Sean knew exactly where the best fishing spots were and worked with us around the weather to make sure we had the best experience possible. He also took the time to answer our many questions—not only about fishing, but about the boat and all the fishing terms and vocabulary we weren’t familiar with. He never made us feel rushed or silly for asking questions. What really stood out was how personable he was. We didn’t just feel like customers on a charter—we genuinely enjoyed getting to know him. We spent time talking about our families, hobbies, and jobs, which made the whole trip feel relaxed and enjoyable. It felt more like spending the day fishing with a friend than simply booking a trip. Would 100% recommend. The conditions were choppy with 3-4 ft swells but Sean had us on fish within 10 minutes of the first line in the water. With the help of first mate Rene, we had our 2 man limit within 4 hours. A amazing, affordable, experience with Waymaker Fishing Charters!!
