Carp fishing in Italy draws anglers to clear lakes, slow rivers, and peaceful canals. You will find powerful Common Carp, bright Mirror Carp, and fast Grass Carp. These fish grow big, fight hard, and reward patient anglers with steady action and great photos.

Guides often use bottom fishing with boilies and pellets. A hair rig, which holds the bait just off the hook, helps turn cautious bites into solid hookups. Method feeders create a tight feed area and keep fish interested. In warm months, surface fishing with bread or dog biscuits can be thrilling. Stalking in the margins also works well in quiet water.

Most trips focus on relaxed bank fishing with plenty of time to set up and wait for runs. Families, beginners, and experienced anglers all enjoy the calm pace and scenic settings. Expect early morning or evening bite windows, with optional overnight sessions in some areas. Bring sun protection, a hat, and layered clothing. Many guides provide rods, bite alarms, nets, and unhooking mats to keep fish safe.

Italy offers varied waters across the country. The Po River valley and its connected canals hold strong, wild Carp. Northern lakes in Lombardy and Piedmont feature clear water and smart fish. Central regions like Tuscany and Umbria have classic farm ponds and large natural lakes. Around Rome, volcanic lakes and slow rivers offer year-round chances. Southern reservoirs can shine after rains when levels rise.

Before you go, check local rules. You may need a regional fishing license and day permits, especially on private or club waters. Night fishing, bait types, and harvest rules can change by region. Always confirm the latest license, permit, season, and harvest regulations with your guide or local authorities.

    Fantastische trip!

(Full Day Trip Giant squid)

    Tough weather

We had tough weather for fishing. we did not have another day to reschedule, so Mano was willing to try anyway. We had to modify our planned fishing spot due to the weather. Mano did his best to get us on fish, but it didn’t work out. That’s why its called fishing. I would use him again.

    Best in class!

Both Lorenzo and Giovanni are absolute gentlemen and know the fishing inside out. You can tell they too are fishermen and go the extra mile to make your trip! Unfortunately one of us got seasick and we decided to go home earlier, but one day...we will definitely be back with them for a rematch with the big ones! Can't recommend enough! Hans &Will
