Move slowly, lift rocks with care, and scoop from behind to avoid the claws.

Expect a relaxed, close-to-shore experience that suits kids and first-time anglers. You will spend time along banks or in shallow water, not on rough seas. Wear sturdy shoes or boots, and bring gloves, a bucket or cooler with ice, and a simple ruler to check size if needed. A headlamp helps after dark.
