(4 Hour Trip – Bottom Fishing (AM))

    We'll be back!

Thanks Miha! My wish for the trip was one fish for my 13 years old son, we have catched eleven of them( 3 different species)! Additionally we've learned a lot of fishing in the mediterian sea, so we can try it alone for the next time! Highly recommended!

    Great experience!

Had and awesome time on the water with Captain Greg and Mark. They worked hard to put us on rays and were determined to the find the big ones. Would definitely do this trip!

Needlefish fishing is fast, visual, and fun. Needlefish are long, skinny surface hunters with sharp beaks and quick strikes. Anglers target them for exciting topwater hits, high jumps, and steady action on light tackle. They are common in warm, shallow waters and around current, making them a great option when you want frequent bites.

Use light spinning or fly fishing gear. Cast small, shiny lures, spoons, or narrow topwater plugs that mimic bait fish. Fast, steady retrieves work best because Needlefish feed near the surface. Small natural baits also score, but use a short wire or heavy fluorocarbon leader to resist their teeth. Aim around beaches, flats, piers, jetties, reef edges, and dock lights at dawn, dusk, or night.

Expect lots of action and some missed hookups. Needlefish often slash at lures, so keep casting and keep tension once hooked. This is a great pursuit for first-time anglers and kids, yet it also rewards skilled casters who enjoy sight fishing. Bring polarized sunglasses to spot fish, sun protection for long days, and long-nose pliers for safe unhooking. Handle fish carefully and keep the mouth pointed away from you.

Before your trip, check local rules. Make sure you have the required fishing license or permit, and confirm seasons, protected areas, and harvest regulations where you plan to fish. Regulations vary by location and can change. When in doubt, practice careful catch and release and follow your captain’s guidance.
