Paddlefish fishing in Missouri, United States is unlike any other trip. Paddlefish, also called Spoonbill, are ancient, plankton-feeding giants. Missouri is famous for strong spring runs and big fish, which makes it a top spot for this unique experience.
Most anglers target Paddlefish by snagging, since these fish do not chase lures. Guides use heavy rods, large treble hooks, and strong line. They work channel edges, river bends, and dam tailwaters, watching sonar for fish moving upstream.
Charter trips focus on safety, clear coaching, and teamwork on the deck. Expect powerful strikes and a serious workout when a Paddlefish hooks up. This trip suits adventurous beginners and seasoned anglers alike. Dress in layers, bring sunscreen and polarized sunglasses, and keep snacks and water handy.
Across the state, broad hotspots include Lake of the Ozarks and Truman Lake. The Osage River and stretches of the Missouri River also see solid action. Many guides run near major reservoirs and big river systems where spring migrations concentrate fish.
Regulations for Paddlefish are strict and can change. Before your trip, check Missouri fishing license and permit rules. Confirm current season dates, legal methods, and harvest or tagging requirements. Your captain will review the plan and help you stay compliant throughout the day.

A successful endeavor
Had a great time out on the water with Captain Steve and his deck hand Tom. Landed my first ever paddlefish in the 50 lb range. Their boat and equipment are first-class and their knowledge of the local waterways is extensive. Could not recommend these guys enough if you're visiting Lake of the Ozarks.

Awesome trip
This was a great trip. 3 of us took a 4 hour trip and we had a blast. Captain Steve and Tom worked hard to get us on fish and got on some nice fish, even got us a banded paddlefish.

Great Trip
Throughly enjoyed out time on the water with All Out Fishing Charter. Crew was experienced, personable, and worked hard to get us on fish. With 6 fish in the boat and 3 keepers we couldn’t have asked for a better morning. Highly recommend if paddlefish is on your list, or even if it isn’t.

Awesome Experiance
I booked a half day trip for my husband and father-in-law. They had a wonderful time and each caught multiple paddlefish, which they had never heard of prior to this experience (they're from Pennsylvania).
