    Great day out

On a tough day for fishing - judging by other boats - we had a very successful day out. Catching several fish early - more than enough for an ourselves plus leaving more than half for the crew. Next time we are in Cabo, I know who we are calling. Thx G

    Great day of fishing!

Captain Casey and his crew put us on fish immediately! We caught over 20 mackeral and 5 skipjacks on our half day trip. We have used this crew several times and have been very impressed with their professional approach, we will continue to use them in the future! Thanks for another great day on the water!

Awesome day of fishing on a solid comfortable boat with an attentive crew and captain

Our day of fishing was a great success with a catch including one large dorado, three skipjacks, and twelve Mexican Sierra. The pre trip communication was excellent, licenses obtained before our excursion, bait fish and fishing equipment was ready to go, and the snacks, beverages, and sandwiches were tasty and fresh. The boat is a solid and comfortable 45 foot walkaround and the captain and crew were attentive and skilled. I highly recommend Captain Casey, his two man crew, and this boat.

Sierra Mackerel fishing is fast, visual, and packed with action. This sleek Mackerel is known for blistering runs, sharp turns, and nonstop energy. Anglers target it for the exciting fight on light tackle and for its firm, mild fillets that shine fresh off the boat.

You will usually find this fish in inshore coastal waters, along beaches, bays, and near structure. Productive methods include surf fishing, inshore trolling, and spinning with small metal spoons or slender plugs. Fly fishing also works well with bright baitfish patterns. Use a light wire leader, which is a short piece of wire that prevents bite‑offs from sharp teeth.

Expect quick strikes, fast retrieves, and fish that travel in schools. The bite often turns on around moving water and bait fish activity. This is a great target for first‑timers, families, and light tackle fans. Wear sun protection, polarized sunglasses to spot fish, and shoes that handle wet decks. Bring a hat, plenty of water, and a cooler with ice if you plan to keep your catch. Most crews provide tackle, but confirm rod weight, leader setup, and lure selection before your trip.

Regulations for Sierra Mackerel vary by location. Before you go, check your local fishing license and permit rules, along with open seasons, gear restrictions, and harvest limits. When in doubt, ask your captain or local authorities so your Sierra Mackerel fishing trip follows current regulations.
