Hello there, I'm Captain Joseph Sanchez! I've spent my entire life here in Brevard County, specializing in inshore fishing. My journey began at a young age when I accompanied my grandfather on hunting trips and fished during the off-season. Fishing naturally captured my attention, and by the age of 10, I was completely hooked! I set aside the rifle and embraced the fishing rod. As a child, whenever people asked me what I wanted to do in life, my answer remained unchanged: 'To become a professional fisherman.' As I grew older, my passion for fishing only intensified. Taking friends and family out to catch fish allowed me to experience the immense satisfaction and joy it brought. Becoming a captain and sharing these memorable experiences with others truly resonates with my heart. My dedication to fishing goes beyond measure. If I'm not on the water, you'll find me on the phone discussing fishing, watching videos online, or analyzing weather patterns. Each trip that is booked is a source of immense gratitude for me. Despite the challenges of the job, your support enables me to pursue my genuine dream. So let's go out there and catch some fish together!

    Tarpon (shark) fishing in space

    4-stündiger Ausflug – entlang der Küste/in Küstennähe3 Erwachsene

Some well managed pre-charter negotiations were necessary due to storms. Capt Joseph put us on large snook and red fish up to 33". After a brief but typical mid pm storm, we went tarpon fishing, and we managed to catch a juvenile hammerhead shark, which was a great consolation. Capt Joseph was great throughout our 4 hr charter and certainly knows the Cape Canaveral area. The local bird life was amazing, including Osprey, Frigate birds, Pelicans, Ibis, and others. We didn't catch Tarpon, but we saw them feeding, and the Hammerhead was a good consolation.

    We caught FISH!

    4-stündiger Ausflug – entlang der Küste/in Küstennähe2 Erwachsene1 Kind

Captain Joseph knew right where to go to catch bait fish and caught all we needed in one throw of his net! Then we were out fishing for snook in minutes. My grandson caught the first one in no time thanks to the Captain's knowledge. It was a 15-20 pounder and he was in Heaven! We continued to catch fish and ended our day with a whopping 35 pound crevalle jack that took about 25 minutes to get into the boat. Great time, highly recommend!

Great Trip — Fast Action and Short Runs

    3-stündiger Ausflug – Küstennah/In Küstennähe2 Erwachsene

Had an awesome trip with Capt. Joseph Sanchez and RocketCity Charters. We were on fish fast with short runs, which made the whole trip enjoyable from start to finish. My buddy landed a verified 40” snook on live croaker and we also caught a nice tripletail. Capt. Sanchez worked hard, stayed on the bait and fish, and kept things fun the entire time. Highly recommend if you want good action without spending half the trip running around.

    Exceeded expectations!

    2-stündiger Ausflug – Inshore/Nearshore3 Erwachsene1 Kind

Family of 3 came to visit Florida, from Colorado. 4+ days with only 1 completely planned. As a last minute venture we decided to go with RocketCity Charters for a short fishing expedition. Early morning, beautiful sunrise, cool temps, glass water, and amazing fishing! Joseph was a fantastic guide. Friendly, personable, professional, and highly knowledgeable. I know fishing is never guaranteed, but he put us in all the right spots, and we walked away with some awesome catches, big smiles and unforgettable memories. We had the absolute best time with him. We decided to keep a fish we caught and he gave us the excellent recommendation to take it to Rusty’s restaurant, in Port Canaveral, where they will cook it up for you! Another amazing experience! Joseph’s dedication and passion for fishing make him highly recommendable. Most happy with our experience!

Space Coast Fishing Report

März 10, 2026 • Cocoa Beach
February was nothing short of incredible for black drum and redfish here on the Space Coast. We saw strong numbers of black drum moving onto the bridges and shallow flats, with steady action and some true giants mixed in. The redfish bite stayed consistent as well, giving anglers quality shots on both schools and larger fish. As we roll into March, things should only get better. With warming water temperatures, we expect prime opportunities at large black drum and bull redfish, especially around bridges and deeper structure. March typically marks the transition into spring patterns, which means more aggressive feeding windows and bigger fish showing up. We’ll also start seeing the first push of snook activity as they begin staging and feeding more consistently. On top of that, triple tail season kicks off — keeping an eye on crab trap buoys and floating debris can produce some exciting sight-fishing opportunities. If February was any indication, this spring is shaping up to be special. Now’s the time to get on the calendar — the big fish season is just getting started.

Nov–Dec Fishing Report | Port Canaveral

Nov. 21, 2025 • Cocoa Beach
The late-fall bite around Port Canaveral is firing. Tripletail have been stacked on the buoys and any floating structure you can find, with plenty of quality fish and killer sight-fishing windows on the slick-calm days. Redfish action has stayed strong, from slot fish tucked inside to big bulls blowing up along the channel edges and nearshore pockets when the weather lines up. Snook are still chewing way better than they should be this time of year, especially on those hard outgoing tides. And yes—there are still a few tarpon hanging around. Smaller fish inside, and every now and then a beach cruiser shows up to surprise you on a warm, calm day. But the real excitement is what’s coming: December means BLACK DRUM season. Big, moving schools will start sliding into the river and onto the flats, creating some of the best winter sight-fishing of the year. When you find those waves of drum, it’s game on. Overall? The fishing is wide open, and December is shaping up to be straight-up electric.

October Redfish Report – Cape Canaveral

Okt. 4, 2025 • Cocoa Beach
October is prime time for redfish on the Space Coast, and this month has been delivering some incredible action. The fall mullet run has the fish feeding hard, with big bull reds stacking up in the inlets, channels, and deeper backwaters. Slot-size reds are also active along shorelines, oyster bars, and creek mouths, giving anglers plenty of opportunities throughout the day. We’re finding the best success on natural baits such as live mullet and cut bait. With higher water levels this time of year, the fish push deeper into the mangroves and backwater creeks — but that also gives us more options to stay on the bite. No matter the wind, we’re able to isolate on leeward shorelines and in protected areas where the fish are holding. If you’ve been waiting for the right time to chase redfish, October is hard to beat. The bite is strong, the conditions are right, and now is the time to get in on the action.
