Layton and Clay both made us feel right at home. Definitely made the trip worth it.. 16 people on our trip... I was worried about being crowded but it wasn't an issue at all... met some great people and caught a bunch of fish... Thanks again to Pelican Adventures and special thanks to Layton and Clay.... we will definitely be back next year!!!!

Geteilt Angeln 6 Uhr 6 Std. • 2 ErwachseneGreat Crew that takes pride in their task and it shows. Interacting with customers and making sure everyone is taken care of. The boat was super clean when we left, we messed it up a little because we were catching fish and they worked together to get it cleaned back up before we got back to the dock. Would definately recommend. Thank you to the Crew fir putting us on fish and making the trip one to remember. We will be back!

Gruppen-/Walk-On-Angeln 6 Stunden 6 Uhr morgens • 8 Erwachsene • 3 KinderWe had 5 adults and 3 kids (8-11yo). Everyone caught fish and everyone had a blast. The crew was outstanding. Very gracious, kind and fun to be around. We enjoyed the sun deck and took a tiny siesta on the way home, it was a perfect day!

The guys on the ship were extremely helpful with getting tangles free, teaching us how to fish for the best fish, and keeping the boat very clean. And shout out to the captain for taking us to the best fishing spots! Had a great first time, would go back again!

Zach, Evan, and Anthony did an excellent job as crew members making sure everyone had a great time. They constantly checked on us without being overbearing. They enforced rules and regulations without being demanding. The boat itself is comfortable. We brought home almost 40 fish and probably had to return about that many because of size regulations. I would highly recommend this trip.

Pelican Adventures has been family owned and operated nearly 20 years, located on the Destin Harbor. We are happy to welcome our winter visitors every year, affectionately called "snowbirds". This lively group of retirees flock to the Emerald Coast every winter to escape cooler temperatures while enjoying the gem we call home in Destin, Florida.
Pelican Adventures offers fishing all year long and we were thrilled to put together a shared charter of Destin Snowbirds aboard the Good Times fishing boat. A shared fishing charter is an economical way to get on the water without fishing on a party boat. Call us to schedule a shared charter today - we will pair you and your group with other anglers to build a "private-ish" fishing trip!

Sheepshead was on the bite February 2019

Come fishing with us all year long at Pelican Adventures on the Destin Harbor. We offer all types of deep sea fishing as well as inshore and nearshore fishing along the Emerald Coast in Destin, Florida. We had an exciting private charter on the Just Right where we spent the day inshore on Redfish, Trout and even a small Pompano! Caught a few keepers and tossed a few back for next time that were not in season or slot. Then, we headed to Destin's East Pass and killed it on Sheepshead. This is some tasty seafood right here and plentiful both along the surf in the Gulf of Mexico and along the bay and harbor.
We are a family owned and operated business for nearly 20 years and look forward to sharing our experience and knowledge of all things fishing in Destin! Mack Attack

Florida waters are home to 3 species of Mackerel - King, Spanish and Cero Mackerel have all been coming in hot to the docks at Pelican Adventures on the Destin Harbor. Come fishing with us on one of our fishing boats to reel in the fun with a mackerel fight!
Mackerels are plentiful along the Emerald Coast late March through November swimming the shallow surfs and along the reefs in the Gulf of Mexico.
Kingfish (King Mackerel) are the biggest of the 3 species and have a minimum size limit of 24' to the fork tail, with a bag limit of 2 per person per day.
Cero Mackerel is the least common of the 3, but many say the best tasting. This mackerel has no size limit or bag limit.
The Spanish Mackerel, is what you generally think of when you hear "mackerel" in Florida. The Spanish has a min size limit of 12" to the fork and a bag limit of 15 fish per person per day.

Smoked Fish Dip
First, soak fish overnight in a brine solution:
1 cup salt
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup lemon juice
2 cups Ketchup
1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 can beer
1 tablespoon red pepper
2 or 3lbs fish
Wash and dry fish, Smoke fish over hickory chips. Once you have the fish smoked let cool and crumble the fish with your hands into a bowl and add:
8oz sour cream
1 cup Duke’s Mayo
1 large onion sauteed
4 tablespoons pickle relish
Pepper to taste
If you like it kicked up a little, dust the fish with Jerk Seasoning or Tony Chachere’s Creole seasoning before you smoke the fish

Mahi Mahi Smash!

Great 6 hour fishing charter this morning on the Good Times! Fun group of ten anglers went out today with us on a private chartered deep sea fishing trip and hauled in 10 Mahi Mahi, a Triple Tail along with some Mingo and White Snapper and a couple Bonita!

Fall Fishing Fun with a Cobia!

Luckily we were spared terrible weather in Destin by Tropical Storm Gordon! And the "calm" before and after the storm cleared some great fishing trips and awesome catch including this tasty Cobia. We are still blessed along the Emerald Coast to report clean waters free of Red Tide. Slick calm waters and bright sunny skies provided the perfect conditions for fun on the water and fish in the boat! Cobia Mania!

Wow! There were over twenty cobia caught yesterday. Over all the boats that fished to the West did better than the ones to the East. There were also some very nice Triggers and Snappers caught.
