Growing up less than a block away from the shoreline in Pass Christain, Mississippi had its perks! As a child, I learned to Flounder and wade fish the beachfront as a hobby and found it's a way to provide excellent table fare. As I grew so did my obsession with the sport. Logging my trips for moon phases, tidal movements, barometric pressure, and weather conditions correlated to fish activity began before I was old enough to drive. If I wasn't walking to the beach after school to wade fish next to the longest private pier on the Coast, I was getting dropped off at the harbor to fish from the rockpile and seawall for hours. Then came the boat. Since then, I have logged countless hours on the water and still feel like a kid every time I leave the dock. The stakes are higher now and the passion is flourishing more than ever. I aim to bring the joy I get from chasing fish to everyone who gets on board with me. I want to share my knowledge with customers and to learn from them as well.

Look, if you are looking for a guide that will certainly go out of his way to ensure you the best experience the gulf has to offer then quit looking and just book with Ambush. Captain Mark has top quality tackle, very professional but super personable, fresh bait, great boat and most of all a love for the gulf and a respect for all it has to offer. My daughter wanted to add that Captain Mark was a great teacher as well. Instead of just doing everything for us he took the time to explain and show why and how, then step back and let us figure it out with a little guidance.

Half Day Trip – Inshore (PM) • 2 ErwachseneA fishing excursion was really the one thing my grandson and his friend wanted out of our visit to Gulfport. Captain Mike did not disappoint!! They wanted to catch something "big and 'ugly', that they couldn't catch at home." Came away with flounder, shark, and several others that fulfilled their expectations! Thank you Captain Mike for making it a great experience and making his birthday s memorable one!!!!

That time of year again!

Fall inshore fishing can be explosive! Expect to catch a variety of fish nearshore and in the backwaters right now. On this afternoon of Jeremy’s Birthday the action started out a little slow but steady and got better as the hours passed. We managed to box 5 sheepshead, 2 groundmullet, several white trout, 4 black drum and released 2 giant black drum. My guests also reeled in several speckled trout but they were just a 1/2” shy of the legal size (15”) so they got yo swim away. The tug is the drug!

What a fun afternoon with my new friends from Minnesota! They gave me a call yesterday morning looking to fish that afternoon. I was able to get my boat launched and in the slip to take them aboard at 1 oclock. A very short time later we were on the spot and slinging fish in the boat. The action was hot n heavy all afternoon. These results can typically be expected throughout the winter on my half day trips. I have centrally relocated to Gulfport Harbor and my slip is located just East of the Light House.
