    Great Trip!

    Morgen-Tarpunangeln2 Erwachsene

My son and I had an excellent time with Captain John and I would recommend him to anyone. We were lucky enough to do two trips with him during our recent stay in Marathon. He is super knowledgeable and it was clear from the beginning, that he has a true passion for fishing. Captain John worked hard to give us the best opportunity for success. He is also personable and we enjoyed his company, which is important when you spend 8 hours with someone. The booking process was simple and Captain John responded quickly to my initial inquiry and answered any questions. His boat and gear were top notch and we had two successful trips with him. Captain John is a true professional and I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to fish with him. Regardless of your skill level or the trip, you won’t be disappointed if you book with him!

    Highlight of our vacation!!

    Nachmittags-Tarpun-Angeln2 Erwachsene

Fishing with Captain John was the biggest highlight of our 10 day vacation! He worked hard and got us on tarpon. One that my husband got right up to the boat was being chased by a hammerhead shark right at the boat! Captain had to cut out off so it might have a chance to get away. I think we had 7 tarpon on, got 3 to the boat and one giant grouper. I will book him again in a heartbeat if we're back this way. Thanks for an awesome experience!

theres never a guarantee when it comes to fishing, but the right boat, tackle and captain certainly help. My son and I were fortunate enough to both catch nice Tarpon, but couldnt have done that without John, our captain.. he went out if his way to make sure we were in the right spot at the right time. An amazing experience i got to share with my son.

No BS. Just fish (and lots of them).

Captain John had a great plan, executed it seamlessly, and didn't hesitate to deviate from it when he thought we could catch more fish by doing so. He seemed to know the water like the back of his hand. We caught snapper, yellow jack, crevalle jack, barracuda, and two sharks. I can't recommend this trip highly enough.

    Hell of an experience

    Morgen-Tarpunangeln1 Erwachsener

I try to do all kinds of fishing when i travel and this trip was one that i will always remember. Had a blast tarpon fishing and John was an amazing guide. We had bites starting within 10 minutes of leaving the docks and one of the best fights i've ever experienced. Tarpon fishing with Callion is a must do when in the keys.

Marathon: Mangrove Snapper & Sharks

Aug. 23, 2026 • Marathon
Late summer fishing is going strong here in Marathon as we start getting closer to our fall patterns. Mangrove snapper are providing consistent action, along with a variety of jacks and barracuda. Shark fishing has also been productive and is always a great option for anglers looking for a hard fight. The big migratory tarpon season is behind us, but there are still plenty of juvenile tarpon around. These smaller fish are a blast on light tackle. As we move toward fall, we should start seeing even more variety show up around Marathon.

Summer of 2026!

Juli 28, 2026 • Marathon
Summer patterns are in full effect here in the Florida Keys. The heat has been brutal, so fishing has slowed down quite a bit. For the near future, most of my time will be spent bully netting for Florida spiny lobster. If you’re getting out on the water, plan for early mornings or late evenings, stay hydrated, and be safe out there!

SUMMER TIME VIBES.

Juli 13, 2026 • Marathon
The summertime patterns make fishing the flats really productive. You’ll find bonefish, permit, and juvenile tarpon cruising the shallow waters. These fish aren’t the easiest to catch, BUT! That challenge is what makes the experience so rewarding. Depending on the day and conditions, sharks and barracudas are also common, adding an extra edge to the trip. Whether you’re out chasing a trophy or just want to enjoy a day in the water, the flats offer something for every angler.

Summer Time!

Juni 13, 2026 • Marathon
The Marathon fishing report is showing signs of summer. Very few tarpon are still hanging around, but we’re still able to make a trip work if expectations aren’t set sky high. The sharks and barracuda have really been picking up the slack in the big fish department, providing plenty of action and some exciting battles. We’re also catching a nice mix of mangrove snapper, adding some great table fare to the day. If you’re looking to get out on the water, there’s still fish to be caught and memories to be made. Give us a call to get on the schedule before the summer pattern fully settles in!

Worms or no worms? ?

Mai 26, 2026 • Marathon
Tarpon fishing around the bridges is still giving us opportunities at fish each trip, but it’s definitely not as consistent as it was a few weeks ago. We’ve been dealing with floating grass and scattered fish at times, so patience and putting in the time has been important lately. The next thing we’re looking forward to is the upcoming worm hatch around the bridges. Once it starts happening consistently, it usually helps get the tarpon more active and can improve the overall bite. Hopefully we’ll see things pick up over the next few weeks

The Tarpon fishing continues!

Mai 17, 2026 • Marathon
Tarpon fishing is still going strong here in the Keys! The numbers have slowed down a little compared to a couple weeks ago, and the seaweed around the bridges has definitely made things challenging at times. There may be a few less fish around, but there’s also a lot less pressure and fewer people fishing for them. Overall, there are still plenty of opportunities to catch that bucket list tarpon!
