Ein wahres Zeichen eines zuverlässigen, erfahrenen Angelcharters ist, wie gut sie ihre Kunden bedienen, wenn die Angel- und Bootsbedingungen nicht ideal sind. Kapitän Matt ist ein großartiger Bootskapitän und erfahrener Guide. Wir hatten den größten Teil des Tages starke Winde und raue See. Dank Kapitän Matts tiefem Wissen über die Keys und seinen herausragenden Bootfahrkünsten gelang es uns, 60+ Fische zu fangen, davon 21 zum Mitnehmen. Meine Frau, mein Sohn und ich wurden den ganzen Tag wie Könige behandelt. Ich empfehle ihn wärmstens und werde sehr bald wieder bei Good Times Key West buchen.

Matt hat keine Zeit verschwendet und uns sofort auf die Fische gebracht. Ein bisschen ruppig, aber die Erfahrung war es absolut wert. Wir haben unseren Fang zum Mittagessen bei Mac's gegessen. Frischer Fisch, nichts Besseres! Hat uns sehr gut gefallen.

Hatte einen tollen Angeltag! Haben genug Gelbschwanz-Schnapper gefangen, um damit zu Mittag zu essen. Tolle Erfahrung mit Justin gemacht - er war sehr geduldig mit meinem 15-jährigen Sohn und hat all seine Fragen beantwortet. Wir haben sogar einen Aal gefangen, der natürlich wieder freigelassen wurde, aber es war ein tolles Erlebnis. Mac's Place macht auch einen super Job beim Zubereiten von frisch gefangenem Fisch.

Captain Justin did a great job balancing catching target fish and pivoting to opportunities available. We caught some big game nurse shark and spinner and ample size mangrove snapper that made for an enjoyable dinner for us all. Captain Justin was knowledgeable, friendly and made sure we were all comfortable and having a good time throughout! Highly recommend - he took the time to ensure things were done the right way!

Cold water temps.

Feb. 3, 2026 • Key West

The water temp has been coldest I've seen in a few years. The inshore fishery was almost non existent for a couple days. Luckily as soon as the cold weather turned, the mangrove, lane snappers, and sharks slowly starting coming back. On the days with decent conditions and adventurous guests, we ventured to a bit deeper reefs looking for a little warmer water temps. We found some nice red grouper (season closed till May) and a verity of quality snappers. Beyond the reef has been decent. Not exactly all the designer fish, but plenty of action to had be had. Decent numbers of of cero, Spanish, and king mackerels, some cudas, and bonita have been caught. I heard of a handful of sailfish being caught, but was not luckily to hook or see any myself.

Yesterday was a pretty special day. Not only for our birthday girl onboard, but also for the crew. We spotted, chased, and caught multiple sailfish in as shallow as 25’ of water on the reef. As we ventured offshore it didn’t take long before we found some December mahi in 150’. We whacked a few mahi, then trolled our way back home, along the way we found some bonus mackerel in hawks channel. Everyday is different and yesterday was certainly one to remember.

Offshore bite heats up with cooler temps

Okt. 30, 2025 • Key West

The cooler weather is bringing our winter time fisheries. Live bait has been plentiful. Pelagic species including Blackfin tuna and mackerel are pushing in shallower towards the reef line. Makes for less commute and more fishing time! Inshore bite has been steady with impressive numbers and size of a verity of species. Cobia have been found on the wrecks. Big muttons in the shallow waters of the backcountry, and quality yellowtail and lane snappers on the patch reefs.
